Woe was Chester. Why was there only one girl in the family?
Chester wished his parents had given him a sister between him and Chase.
It would be great if he had a sister.
Callia was a cousin, and not just exclusive to him. He had to share his cousin with all the other cousins.
However, it would be different if he had his very own sister.
That evening, the group returned to the O'Connors' estate.
Aware of the arrival of more York kids, the O'Connors waited in the main house.
Isabella cleared her schedule and left work early. Even Louis and Philip were there. With a group of children entering the house, the senior members of the O'Connor family grinned from ear to ear.
"Uncle Austin. Aunt Isabella.”
The kids said hello.
They then exchanged greetings with the O'Connors.
Louis went up and took Koben right out of Callia's arms. He said, "It's been a while since I've seen Koben. You've grown so much. What grade are you in now?"
"You don't have time to visit. Of course, you hadn't seen me.
"I'm in preschool. I'm only five. Five-year-olds go to preschool."
Louis carried Koben to sit on the sofa.
After teasing Koben a little, Louis asked the other boys about school.
The answers he got only left him disheartened. Though Louis was past school age, the York boys were all at the top of their classes.
That included his nephews, Chase and Chester. Louis was still in education when Chase was in school, but the latter did not need any help at all.
The Yorks had excellent genes.
It was a good thing Isabella said yes to Austin's proposal. They got married and had smart kids.
"Uncle Louis, when are you giving us an aunt?” Sawyer asked.
Louis replied with a smile, "I don't even have a girlfriend yet. You'll be in the wedding once I find you an aunt."
"That's what you say every year. The same goes to Phillip."
Phillip, who was rolling on the floor laughing, paused.
How did he get dragged into the conversation?
Phillip was younger than Louis. Louis was single, so Phillip was in no hurry either.
Isabella said, "Louis, I'm not trying to nag you, but even those younger than you are settling down, but you're still on your own."
Louis said in resignation, "It's not that I don't want to get married, Isabella. I need to meet the right person, someone who is not after our wealth. Most women I interacted with are in it for the money."
It took a while for Isabella and the other women in the family to find the right men who did not covet the O'Connors' family assets.
Louis and Phillip were the only boys in the family. It was no secret that most of the family fortune would go to the boys, so the women set their sights on them, mostly for the wealth.
The women in the family were happy in their marriages.
Their husbands were high-achieving men, not the least bit interested in the O'Connors' wealth.
Louis wanted to marry a go-getter of equal standing. If they were financially independent, they would not go after each other's assets.
However, there were too many materialistic girls in the world.
Isabella stopped talking.
The fact that Louis and Phillip were still single was a major family dilemma.
