"It's your decision. I'm just your bodyguard, in charge of your security. I don't have an opinion on anything else."
Laurence looked at her for a moment, wanting to say something, but ultimately stayed silent. He merely sighed and then started working in resignation.
Now that Laurence was actually working, Noelle did not have to keep staring at him fixedly. She walked out of his office but did not go far. Finding a spot, she sat down and grabbed a few magazines to pass the time with.
Laurence's secretary, Paul, poured her a glass of water.
"Have some water, Noelle."
Noelle nodded slightly.
Laurence's secretary was a man and was younger than Laurence and Noelle by a few years, but had been working for him for quite a few years now and was well- trusted.
The employees of Longtail Group all knew that although Noelle was Laurence's bodyguard, she was a special one. After all, they grew up together and had eighteen years of a familial bond with each other. The way Laurence treated Noelle made everybody else afraid to think too little of her.
Everyone addressed her the way Callia and the rest did.
"Noelle, did Mr. Young say what to do about what Ms. Longbottom is doing at our office entrance?" Paul asked.
Noelle flipped through the magazine. At Paul's question, she replied calmly without even looking up, "The boss has already made arrangements. There's no need for us to do anything, so you can go back to work."
"Oh, he's taken care of it? Alright then, I'll go back to work now. If there's anything else you need, just let me know."
Knowing that Noelle did not like talking too much, Paul could not very well, and did not dare to, keep asking about it, so he went back to work.
At the office entrance, Roxy watched as her men helped her arrange the flowers she had bought into a red heart shape. She retreated a few steps to appreciate the red heart. Yes, good—it was a splash of bright red.
Very pretty.
In all her life, no one had ever prepared such an arrangement for her.
Yet, she was now preparing one for Laurence. She had stomped her own ego as the Ms. Longbottom into the ground, unafraid of others laughing at her and calling her shameless for pursuing Laurence so relentlessly.
The more Laurence rejected her and disliked her, the more it triggered her desire to conquer him.
Even if her father had not instructed her to do so, she wanted to pursue the mysterious man, and wanted even more to chase away that woman Noelle from his side once she had conquered him. Of course, it would be best if she could get rid of Noelle entirely.
Roxy dug out her phone and took a few pictures of the red heart-shaped flower arrangement.
Her men were still busy trying to arrange the flowers into her words of love toward Laurence.
The security guards at Longtail Group did not stop her and simply allowed her men to bustle about.
The guards on duty watched and exchanged a few quiet words from time to time. They had received notice from upstairs not to interfere as there would be someone coming to clear these flowers.
Ms. Longbottom was seriously shameless, though. Despite having been rejected by their boss in public settings and even being outrightly mocked countless times before, she continued to harass him relentlessly. She said she loved him even though she had never seen his real face before.
Ha! Everyone knew all too well what her true intentions toward their boss were. She was just fooling herself.
Was she not afraid their boss was an old man?
If he really was an old man, would she be this willing?
"What are you guys still standing here and looking at? Call Laurence immediately
and tell him I'm at the entrance of his office, and I'm going to confess my feelings to him publicly. No matter his attitude toward me, I truly love him."
Roxy had gone all out this time.
Laurence mocked her so badly at the previous banquet that her ego had been stomped thoroughly into the ground. Since she already had so much egg on her face, what was there to be afraid of?
If Laurence would not let her have a good time, she would not let him have peace either.
She would make such a big fuss that the entirety of Havenmill heard.
The guard on duty said, “Ms. Longbottom, our boss Mr. Young is very busy and doesn't have time for this. It's your business if you want to confess to him, but it's his business whether or not he accepts it."
There was no way their boss would like the lady.
Even if the two companies were not each other's biggest rival in the industry, their boss would never fall for Ms. Longbottom.
