"That's something else."
Looking solemn, Manny voiced his concern, "Pops, are we still going as planned?"
He was referring to the late-night raid.
Tony fell silent for a bit before uttering, "Everything is in place, so we must carry on. We have been taking chances in the last thirty years. It's always better to be overly cautious than leave a threat alive.
"We know that Laurence is the boy we've been tracking down. At the very least, we now have enough indirect evidence to be certain. The family seal, token, and totem must be with Laurence.
"Tonight's objective is to seize the heirlooms. Our odds are slim when it comes to killing Laurence. He holds his own in a fight. Plus, his bodyguards are not to be messed with, either. It's like they are straight out of the Matrix movie."
Noelle could easily defeat ten of their assassins all on her own.
Laurence loved to fight dirty, just like Lilian. No surprise there. The student learned from the mentor for sure.
With a tail already on Jane and Lilian, Manny and the others were not worried. Given how many people they had sent out, they were confident the two women
would be brought back soon.
They went inside the villa.
Roxy poured everyone a drink before taking a seat next to Manny. She turned to Tony and asked with concern, "Grandpa, if Laurence is ready for us, we won't stand a chance. We might not even get into his estate.
"Even if we luck out and get inside, we risk getting hit by his chemical toxins. He's bound to keep the family heirlooms under absolute lockdown, so pulling off a heist will be incredibly difficult.
"Who knows whether the heirlooms are in his residence? He could have kept them safely with the Johnsons."
Laurence was Jane's adopted son and Lilian's apprentice. There was a chance that the important stuff was under lock and key at the Johnsons' residence.
No criminal had the guts to raid FC Manor. The estate was much more secure than keeping the heirlooms on his person.
"That would have been a possibility in the past, but the tokens must be on him. He made a spectacle out of picking Jane and Lilian up at the airport, so he is not afraid of us finding out. It's likely he's ready to come clean about who he is.”
Tony added bitterly, "Many of the family members hope he is a Longbottom. They want him to take over the family, so they can have their day in the sun."
The extended family, along with their descendants, who had not been involved in the massacre, had been stripped of any privilege by Tony and Manny. Of course, these people were fuming that they were getting nothing.
These family members enjoyed none of the perks of the family's success. In fact, they served only as punching bags for the acting heads' confidantes.
Of course, they also hoped Laurence was the only surviving member of the main lineage because that was the true, rightful bloodline.
"It's hard to kill him without a gun, but the weapon can easily be traced back to us. We're not looking to go down with him. We want absolute victory."
Since Laurence and his security details were world-class fighters, eliminating him would be difficult.
"Our priority is to steal the tokens. With these items, we can lead the family without reservations. Everything in the family will belong to us.
"Once we become the heads, Laurence becomes irrelevant. The family elites are absolute monsters. If they weren't, the family wouldn't establish so many protocols to keep them in line."
