Manny's expression darkened again. He yanked open the office door and walked out. He slammed the door shut.
"Mr. Laurence, you really don't hold back with your words. You hurt him," Noelle commented.
Laurence laughed. "That's the point. There's no need for me to show them any courtesy."
Noelle could not help but smile. "Manny won't give up."
"I hope he doesn't. It's boring fighting against him. He's no match for me. The only person with some ability is the old man behind him. Manny is just a pawn controlled by his father.
"How he moves and where he goes is all arranged by Tony. In terms of business, he can only maintain the status quo. Expecting him to lead the company further would be difficult."
"Times are developing too quickly. Sticking to the old methods won't work, or the times will leave you behind.
"Manny and Tony deserve to spend the rest of their lives in prison."
The final sentence was spoken with great hatred.
The tragedy that befell Laurence's family was caused by Tony and his people.
Even if Tony had grown old, Laurence did not intend to forgive him. However, he would not allow Tony to die so easily either. He would send everyone Tony cared about to prison, and then deal with Tony himself.
Tony wanted to get his grandchildren out of the country, but Laurence would never allow that.
Thirty years ago, Tony had tried to eliminate Laurence's whole family, not even sparing a one-year-old child like him. Now, Laurence would repay that grudge in full. Tony wanted to protect his grandchildren? No way!
Tony's grandchildren had relied on the family's status and influence to act arrogantly in school and at work. They bullied and oppressed others without restraint.
Some of them had even broken the law, but Tony and Manny used their power, connections, and money to suppress the incidents. None of them had ever truly been punished.
After so many years in Havenmill, Laurence had already gathered evidence of their crimes. He was waiting for them to make a critical misstep so he could bring them down in one fell swoop. Then, they would end up behind bars for around a decade.
Laurence did not have evidence of what happened thirty years ago, but he could start with Tony's grandchildren.
Now that he had openly taken control of the Longbottom family, Tony and Manny would definitely try to attack him again. He was waiting for them to deliver the evidence to him on a silver platter.
“Noelle, please make me a cup of coffee.”
"Sure."
Laurence then stood up and walked to the desk. He sat in the black swivel chair and called his secretary at Longtail Group to send over his backup computer.
After the call, he organized his desk and started reviewing the pending documents.
Noelle brought him the coffee and asked, "What do you need me to do, Mr. Laurence?"
"We just started here, so I'm not familiar with the layout yet. Organize and arrange the office according to my office at Longtail Group. Also, sort out Manny's belongings and have the secretary send them to him."
"Yes, sir."
Just as Laurence finished instructing Noelle to help organize the office, someone knocked on the door.
"Come in."
The person who came in was Manny's secretary, Misty Tindall. Naturally, she was not Laurence's secretary. She was a young and attractive woman.
As she walked over, she first glanced at Noelle, then at Laurence. His youthful and handsome appearance made her eyes linger slightly, but she put on a professional smile and said, "Mr. Longbottom, Mr. Durham is here. Should I invite him in or have him wait for you in the VIP lounge?"
