Laurence replied, "That's fine. Please don't stand on ceremony with me. Whenever you visit Havenmill in the future, I'll take care of all your meals and
accommodations. I can even arrange for a tour guide if you need one.
"Aunt Ser, did you get car rentals? There's no need for that. I have a few that I'm not using. You guys can knock yourselves out."
Most men liked cars, and Laurence was no exception. He had so many cars in his garage he could put on an exhibition.
He did not need so many cars either, and the cars in his personal garage did not even include the fleet assigned to his bodyguards.
"Yeah, it's a rental."
Zachary replied mildly. "We've paid the deposit, so we'll just use them. It'll only be for a few days anyway."
They traveled all this way by plane, and the Yorks did not have businesses in this city, so they could only rent cars.
Sonny did have a small villa here, but he only had one car. If it were just Zachary and Serenity, that would be enough, but a few bodyguards were with them.
Ever since Zachary was young, whenever he went out the door, he would bring eight bodyguards with him out of habit.
After getting married, there was a time he stopped bringing bodyguards with him, thinking that now that he was married and the entirety of Wiltspoon knew he had a wife, he would not be bothered by others even without bodyguards around him.
He never expected that people still liked and bothered him, even going as far as to find Serenity and beg her to share him.
Zachary had no choice but to continue bringing his bodyguards, not allowing any woman the chance to approach him.
This habit had been maintained for a few decades now, even when he was getting on in years.
In Serenity's words, he had aged like fine wine, and effortlessly turning heads whether among women his own age or young ladies.
He had kept himself in good shape, after all, and appeared as if only in his early forties. Whenever he walked around with Heath, they were assumed to be brothers. He simply looked more mature and steadier than his son, with boundless charm.
Heath sometimes disliked attending events with Zachary, saying that his father always stole the limelight.
Haha.
"Does Sonny know you're here?"
Laurence asked. "Sonny's leaving on a business trip tomorrow. He said he'd come over when he's back. Aunt Ser, Uncle Zack, why don't you guys stay a few extra days? Once Sonny returns, we can all get together."
It was Serenity's idea to come over for a holiday. She heard Jane and Lilian were here, so she wanted to join in on the fun. Zachary did not feel at ease with Serenity coming on her own, so he handed his work to Heath to accompany her here.
Of course, their excuse was the holiday. They could not very well say they were here to watch how Laurence pursued Noelle, right?
They were also here partly to support Laurence, and to show everyone that Laurence was not alone. He had the backing of several powerful families. Whoever laid a hand on Laurence would be making enemies out of all these families.
Despite the distance, they could be here in minutes to help Laurence go up against his enemies as long as they wanted to help him.
"Sonny normally goes over to my house to stay for a couple of days when he's free and meets up with his friends. Anyway, if he comes back early enough, we can stay for a few more days. Once he's back, we can share a meal and have a good time here together before we leave.
"It's rare for us to travel to this region, so we definitely have to visit Austin too. We didn't even dare let him know we were coming here, or else Isabella would definitely have come to drag us to Satbury by now."
Isabella would get mad at them if they came all this way but did not stay with her and the O'Connors for at least a few days.
Austin and Zachary were biological brothers, and they only met during the Christmas holidays. All other holidays, they would just send their kids back while Austin stayed at home in Satbury to cook for his wife.
There was nothing to be done about it. Isabella was just too picky an eater, and had
to manage her family's huge business as well. In the past when Louis was still not
up to the task yet, the entire burden was on Isabella. The most she could spare was a day or two. Any more than that was difficult.
