The previous time, Steven wanted to introduce the son of the Zellers' neighbor to Everly. Maddie had objected because she thought the young man was too flirtatious, but Steven insisted that he was simply good with words and was actually very devoted in relationships.

"I told you, I have my eye on a genuinely outstanding young man. He and Everly are very well matched. I even showed you his picture. It's the head of Lewis & Co. in Wiltspoon, Sonny Brown.
"The distinguished guest that Nate Tatum insulted today was Sonny. He came to Clearfield on a business trip, and we were hosting him. Nate insulted him without even bothering to find out who he was. He has neither manners nor grace.
