# Chapter 19: The Family That Never Was
Hello everyone, it's me again! How are you all doing? Today I will continue to walk with you and review Chapter 19 of "REMARRIED AFTER I SECRETLY DIVORCED THE CEO" – a chapter where old wounds are torn open, and Autumn finally decides she's done being the family's doormat.

The air around the convention center entrance turned icy the moment Autumn's eyes met Luna's. With deliberate precision, Autumn emphasized the words "good sister," knowing full well that Luna understood exactly what she meant. The reaction was immediate – Luna stiffened, her gaze flickering with unease, as if caught red-handed in some secret crime.
But before Autumn could savor that small victory, Hector stepped in front of Luna like a knight protecting his precious princess. His eyes bore into Autumn with cold hostility. "Cut the sarcasm, Autumn. Don't act like we were dying to say hello to you." His voice dripped with venom. "Let me remind you, everyone here today is a top industry professional. You, with just a bachelor's degree, might want to save yourself the embarrassment."
Autumn's lips curled into a smile that didn't reach her eyes – a cold, razor-sharp expression. "What I am or am not is my business. What's it to you? Do you live by the sea or something, always trying to manage tides that aren't yours?"
Since they already saw her as the wicked sister, she thought, why not play the part? Why not give them exactly what they expected?
Hector's face flushed crimson with rage. "You—"
Before he could finish, Simon's dark voice cut through like a whip. "Autumn, have you made enough of a scene? Everyone's watching. Aren't you ashamed?"
There it was again. *Accusing her of making a scene.* The same accusation she'd heard so many times that the words had lost their sting, like a wound that had scarred over and gone numb.
Autumn met Simon's gaze head-on, her voice eerily calm. "You're all not ashamed, so why should I be? In your eyes, I've never had any dignity to begin with, isn't that right?"
For the longest time, she had wondered why her two full-blooded brothers would always side with Luna, the adopted sister. She had searched for answers, blamed herself, tried to be better. But now, standing here under their contemptuous stares, everything finally clicked into place.
She wasn't good at playing games. She didn't know how to flatter or manipulate like Luna did. But she had no interest in using pretense to maintain relationships that were already hollow. If a bond couldn't survive on its own merits, she was perfectly fine letting it go.
Simon raised his voice, losing all patience. "Autumn, this is an important event. Can you at least act appropriately and stop creating drama?"
"Sure." Autumn tugged the corners of her mouth into a mocking smile. "Didn't you say I couldn't even get an invitation? Well then, open those dog eyes of yours and look clearly at what this is."
She pulled the invitation from her designer bag and waved it triumphantly in front of Hector's face. Their eyes widened in disbelief. Without another word, she turned, scanned the QR code at the entrance, and strode into the venue with cool indifference.
*Family?* She nearly laughed at the thought. What a joke. She wasn't expecting anything anymore. So what if they were her brothers? At the end of the day, they were just groveling at Luna's feet. She didn't want either of her brothers anymore. She didn't want Julian anymore either. If Luna was so eager to snatch up everything Autumn had discarded, then fine – she could have them all.
Behind her, Luna watched every step, her hands unconsciously tightening into fists. She hadn't expected Autumn to actually possess a real invitation. Even Luna's own invitation had been procured through her older brother's connections. So where had Autumn gotten hers?
Luna tugged on Hector's arm, her voice uncertain. "Hector, where did she get her invitation?"
Hector frowned, turning to Simon. "Did you give it to her?"
"No." Simon shook his head, pulling out his own invitation. "Come on, let's head in."
Inside, the venue buzzed with activity. Attendees clustered in small groups, their conversations orbiting around the central theme of AI in healthcare. The air smelled of expensive perfume and ambition. Autumn waited by the entrance for a while, scanning the crowd for Ethan, but he still hadn't shown up. Nor did she recognize anyone else.
So she found a quiet corner, sank into a plush seat, and pulled out her phone. A simple mobile game – something to occupy her mind, to drown out the noise of broken family ties and shattered expectations.
She was halfway through a match when a familiar voice suddenly cut through the ambient chatter. "Autumn, what are you doing here?"
Her fingers froze over the screen. She knew that voice. She knew it all too well.

## Reader's Impressions & Star Rating
This chapter broke my heart and made me cheer at the same time. Watching Autumn finally stand up for herself, refusing to be the family scapegoat anymore, was deeply satisfying. The raw pain behind her calm demeanor, the way she's learned to armor herself against their cruelty – it's both tragic and inspiring. The brothers' hypocrisy is infuriating, and Luna's calculating silence speaks volumes. I love how Autumn didn't even flinch when she threw those words back at them. She's growing stronger, and I'm here for it.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 4.7 / 5 Stars
## Next Chapter Prediction
The mysterious voice at the end must be Julian! He's finally shown up at this event, and I suspect he's either going to confront Autumn about the divorce or pretend everything is fine to save face in front of industry elites. But more importantly – how did Autumn get that invitation? Was it from Ethan? And will Julian catch her playing games in a corner instead of networking? The tension is about to explode!
