Hello everyone, it's me again! How are you all doing? Before Hilda arrived, Jesse had already briefed her on Autumn's condition, so she was fully prepared for what she would find. Autumn forced a faint smile and quickly clarified, "You've misunderstood. He's not my boyfriend." At best, Keith was merely an acquaintance, not even a close friend. Yet this time, he had helped her immensely, and she knew she owed him a great debt.
Hilda paused for a moment, sensing the weight behind those words, but she didn't pry further. Instead, she ladled the warm oatmeal from the container and placed it gently before Autumn. "Would you like me to feed you?" she asked softly. Autumn shook her head. "No need. I can manage on my own."
She took the bowl, blew on it carefully, and began sipping slowly. The warmth trickled down into her stomach, soothing the ache that had settled there. It was a small comfort, but in that moment, it felt like a lifeline.
Meanwhile, across the city, Julian's expression hardened the moment Autumn abruptly ended the call. He had sworn he wouldn't get tangled up in her affairs again. Tossing his phone aside in frustration, he rose to fetch a glass of water. After drinking, he went straight back to work, forcing the irritation to the back of his mind. The day's conference hadn't been a total waste – at least he had managed to connect with some significant industry players through Simon.
By ten o'clock, Julian finally finished plowing through all his emails. He rubbed his aching temples, fatigue settling into his bones. Just as he shut his laptop, a video call from Luna popped up on the screen. He answered without hesitation.
On the other end, Luna lounged on a hotel bed, draped in a sheer bunny outfit, her eyes half-lidded with desire. She brought a glass of red wine to her lips, her gaze sultry and deliberate, and smiled seductively. "Julian, are you still working? Why don't you come out for a little midnight snack? Take the edge off."
Taking in her provocative pose and alluring curves, Julian ran his tongue along his molars. "Didn't I satisfy you last night?" he asked, his voice low. Luna slowly slid one of the straps off her shoulder. The already sheer fabric shifted with her movement, revealing the pale skin of her chest. She threw a playful wink at the camera and lowered the other strap, baring her flawless collarbone. With every subtle motion, the curves of her chest teased into view, sending waves of temptation right through the screen.
She curled her red lips into a smile, her sweet, high-pitched voice laced with intoxicating charm. "Julian, are you coming? Offer expires soon!" Desire surged in Julian's eyes. "Send me your location." Luna stood up as her dress slipped to the floor – she didn't care in the slightest. She took another sip of wine, the red liquid tracing down from her lips. She licked the corner of her mouth with her tongue. "I'll be waiting at our usual spot."
The contrast couldn't be starker. While Julian gave in to fleeting pleasures with Luna, Autumn spent two comfortable days resting in the hospital, wrapped in a cocoon of care. Hilda took excellent care of her, tending to everything with meticulous attention. All Autumn had to do was eat and sleep – Hilda handled the rest. During this time, Julian never called her again, as if her disappearance had no effect on him whatsoever. Only Ethan reached out, asking how she was feeling and when they could meet for a meal.
On the third day, Autumn's scheduled consultation with the specialists arrived. At nine in the morning, Jesse showed up at the hospital. Adjusting the glasses on his nose, he said to her, "Miss Lewis, Mr. Sinclair asked me to take you to see Dr. Mills." Peter Mills was one of the country's top cancer specialists and the maternal grandfather of Keith's childhood friend, Lucas Whitman.
"Alright." Autumn, who had been sipping water, nodded and set the cup down before following Jesse out. Peter was a man in his seventies. Though his temples were graying and he wore reading glasses, he still looked energetic and sharp. When he saw Autumn enter, he smiled and motioned for her to sit. "Please, have a seat."

**Reader's Impressions & Star Rating:**
This chapter presents a poignant study in contrasts. Autumn's quiet vulnerability and gradual healing stand in stark opposition to Julian's impulsive surrender to temptation. The warm oatmeal scene with Hilda feels like a gentle embrace, while Luna's seduction scene sizzles with a cold, transactional heat. The emotional distance between Autumn and Julian grows wider, and we can't help but feel for Autumn's lonely journey toward hope. The introduction of Dr. Mills brings a glimmer of anticipation, but the shadow of Julian's betrayal lingers heavily.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 4.5 / 5 Stars
**Next Chapter Prediction:**
I believe the consultation with Dr. Mills will reveal crucial details about Autumn's condition, perhaps offering a ray of hope or a difficult crossroads. Meanwhile, Julian's night with Luna may lead to complications he never anticipated – and when he least expects it, Autumn's absence will start to gnaw at him. The seeds of regret are already being sown.
