Maya walked beside Damien, their hands still intertwined, while Nicholas and Harper followed several steps behind them.
After what had just happened in front of everyone, the silence between them had become considerably more awkward.
Harper pretended not to notice, and Nicholas apparently decided to do the same.
Maya, however, could practically feel the tension following behind them.
She subtly tugged at Damien’s hand.
Damien glanced at her, and Maya immediately shifted her eyes toward Harper and Nicholas before looking back at him.
