Macy Wade really knew how to defend herself.
Zane Harrison couldn't even be bothered to expose her petty thoughts.
But Claire wasn't going to let it slide. "What do you mean, 'if word got out'? Aren't you the ones ruining my reputation?"
"Macy, do you need me to pull out the rest of the evidence?"
"Like how you've been spreading rumors everywhere that I'm stringing Cyrus along and accepting his gifts?"
Macy looked relatively calm on the outside, but she was panicking internally.
She never expected Claire to know about the other things too.
Getting caught red-handed today was bad enough, but if Claire had other things hanging over her head, she was genuinely worried Claire wouldn't let this go.
Macy was the type who knew when to fold. She immediately apologized, "I'm sorry, we misunderstood."

Tabitha Prince followed suit and apologized. Only Lily Lowell, still jealous that Cyrus had actually pursued Claire, couldn't bring herself to say the words.
Claire didn't care. "Does an apology fix anything? Just like how I dumped a plate of food on your heads—would you accept my apology for that?"
Of course, the three of them didn't want to, but was there a better option right now? They could only grit their teeth and say they wouldn't pursue the matter.
Claire was quite satisfied with this.
She looked at Zane. "Mr. Harrison, since neither side is pressing charges, can I leave now?"
Before Zane could speak, someone hurried over.
It was Sloane Sterling and her friend from Sundara, Meiko Fujii.
"Macy, are you okay?"
Sloane immediately checked on Macy, making it look as if Macy had been horribly bullied and wronged.
Macy was just about to say she was fine when she saw Sloane already pointing the finger at Claire.
"Claire, what did Macy do to make you treat her like this?"
"She's not Levi Charles, she's a girl. What if you scarred her face?"
This accusation made Claire want to laugh.
"Sloane, that's not right. Levi is a guy, so he doesn't have to worry about
his face getting scarred?"

Claire's tone was breezy, not taking Sloane seriously at all.
Sloane could tell that Claire was not someone to be trifled with.
The key point was that this girl never took a loss.
If someone made her uncomfortable, she would immediately make them uncomfortable right back.
This personality of hers was probably cultivated from growing up in a wealthy family.
"I didn't mean it like that. I just think this is inappropriate."
"Even if Macy did something wrong, you can't just resort to violence."
Sloane still tried to argue her point.
But would Claire tolerate her?
"I prefer taking action. It's simpler. Talking is exhausting."
"Plus, for some people, words don't work. They prefer a good beating."
Claire spoke with complete self-righteousness.
Sloane wanted to call her out for lying through her teeth, but she couldn't.
Because Levi and Macy were prime examples.
Even though they got beaten up, they really wouldn't have listened otherwise.
