"So what was Claire's attitude?"
If her brother could actually win Claire over, she might really have a chance.
Latonia didn't immediately shoot the idea down, and even seemed to be lecturing him.
Cyrus felt a rollercoaster of emotions.
He thought his sister would definitely scold him for playing games with his own happiness, but he never expected Latonia to immediately ask about Claire's attitude.
Did that mean she actually thought this plan was viable and still held some expectations for him?
Cyrus felt a bit disappointed.
"Cyrus, are you listening to me?"
After waiting a long time without an answer, Latonia thought the signal was bad.
"I can hear you. Claire rejected me flat out."
"That's Dane we're talking about. Only an idiot would dump him for me." Cyrus said this with a bit of spite.
He wasn't sure if Latonia picked up on it.
"You're amazing too, Cyrus. You can't sell yourself short."
"Dane's excellence is bolstered by his family background, but you are incredibly capable on your own."
Latonia showered her brother with praise.
But Cyrus couldn't help but interrupt her, "So, are you only interested in Dane's family background too?"
If Latonia joined The Green Family, it would obviously be a huge win for The Franklin Family.
But Cyrus was still young. In his simple worldview, Dane's excellence came mostly from himself.
He was young and didn't place that much importance on family background yet. Just like if he were dating now, he definitely wouldn't be doing it for the girl's money.
If his sister was really only after Dane's family background, Cyrus would be quite disappointed.
Fortunately, Latonia immediately denied it. "Of course I like him for who he is."
"But I don't know if other people are just after his background."
Latonia's words carried a subtle dig.
Cyrus immediately realized she was talking about Claire.
"I don't think Claire is that kind of person. My grandpa said she's the granddaughter of The Churchill Family, the kind with shares doubt she's after Dane's money.
Cyrus understood Claire fairly well; after all, they were classmates and had spent
over half a semester together.
In his eyes, Claire wasn't a particularly materialistic person.
At school, her clothes, food, housing, and transportation were all very simple.
But Cyrus was a clueless guy who didn't realize that most of the clothes Claire wore were outrageously expensive.
Setting aside the SUNNY brand clothes, even the ones Victoria and Eleanor
prepared for her cost thousands of dollars at a time.
Many of the brands were ones Cyrus had never even heard of.
Or maybe he had heard of them but just didn't pay attention.
Claire really didn't care about Dane's money, because she was already wealthy herself.
But what about Latonia?
Did she really not care?
She could buy a designer dress worth thousands of dollars without batting an eye but for anything in the tens of thousands, she had to weigh her options. fo FindNovel.net
The Franklin Family was just a scholarly family of medical professionals, while The Green Family was a top-tier billionaire dynasty.
The gap between the two families was quite obvious.
This was also why Latonia was dead set on marrying Dane, refusing to give up even after years of rejection.
However, she was smarter than the average woman. She knew she couldn't just blindly chase after a man.
More importantly, she knew how much Dane valued his grandfather, Baldrick, so she chose to study abroad.
She hoped to learn more advanced knowledge about treating rheumatic diseases, then return to cure Baldrick.
It was a calculated power play-using the grandfather as leverage to secure the grandson.
She had planned it perfectly.
Unfortunately, before she could even finish her studies and return Claire had already practically cured the old man's illness.
