The Darwin family erupted into a chorus of theatrical sobbing.
It finally dawned on them all-the mighty pillar of the Darwin family had crumbled.
From now on, they had no one to shield them from the consequences of their actions!
Which meant the Darwins would have to start living with their tails firmly tucked between their legs.
They screamed and wailed, begging the doctors to save him.
Lydia grabbed Claire's arm wildly. "Aren't you a doctor? Save him right now!" "My dad..."
Lydia didn't even know what she was babbling anymore.
Claire firmly pried her fingers off and shook her head. "I'm sorry. The patient has passed. Please accept my condolences."
Refusing to accept reality, Lydia pointed a shaking finger at Claire and screamed, "It's you! You killed my father!"
"When Dr. Song was treating him, he was perfectly fine!"
"Why did he die the second you took over?"
"You're so young, you must have gotten in through dirty connections!"
"I'm going to report you!"
"You killed an absolute hero! I'm going to make sure you never practice medicine again!"
Dane had heard that General Darwin was crashing and likely wouldn't make it. He rushed to the hospital solely to make sure Claire wasn't targeted by the fallout. She was a young doctor, making her the perfect scapegoat for grieving relatives. Sure enough, the moment he arrived, he saw a total lunatic lunging for Claire's hair. Pure rage flared in Dane's eyes. "Stop!"
Caught off guard, Claire hadn't realized Lydia's nails had already left a scratch across her cheek. It wasn't until she heard Dane's voice that she snapped back to reality.
But Lydia didn't back down.
She was completely blinded by her own hysteria; it didn't matter who was screaming at her.
That was, until Dane yanked Claire safely into his arms while two of his bodyguards physically dragged Lydia away.
"Oh, I see how it is! The doctor kills my dad and now has her thugs hit me! I'm going to expose all of you!"
Lydia had completely lost her mind.
She couldn't stomach the fact that her father's will gave her less than a grand- nephew.
And she absolutely couldn't accept that with his death, her lifelong safety net was gone forever.
Her husband, however, was exceptionally good at reading the room.
Seeing the dangerous glint in Dane's eyes, he immediately rushed over to restrain her.
"Alright, Lydia, that's enough. Stop this."
"This has nothing to do with the doctor. If you keep this up, you're just causing a riot in a hospital."
"Your dad just passed. You don't want him to be restless, do you?"
Struggling against her husband's grip, Lydia shrieked, "What do you mean I'm making him restless?"
"They clearly murdered my father!"
"I'm escalating this! I'm taking this to the highest authority! The very top!"
Lydia continued screaming her lungs out.
Dr. Quincy finally lost his temper.
"Enough! Shut your mouth and get out!"
"You want to sue, Lydia?"
"I'll call the cops right now myself!"
"We have every single moment of the General's emergency care meticulously documented."
"This hospital isn't afraid of an investigation!"
Facing Dr. Quincy's unyielding anger, Lydia instantly lost her nerve.
Her voice dropped noticeably. "I'm not going after the hospital, I'm going after her!"
Dr. Quincy let out a sharp scoff. "You really know how to pick the softest target."
"Let me spell it out for you. Claire is an elite acupuncture specialist

Dr. Quincy had only recently brushed up on Claire's background.
That was when he learned she had been critical in saving Van. No wonder Tandy was so fiercely protective of her.
They were all titans in the medical field, and they aggressively protected exceptional talent.
