If Reid was willing to share his startup experience, half the student body would
probably line up to listen.
They would even pay for the privilege!
Therefore, missing tonight's dinner was absolutely out of the question.
After politely greeting Reid, Lex flashed Claire and Zara a deeply grateful smile.
Her unspoken appreciation hung warmly in the air.
Dining around a shared fondue pot was all about the vibrant atmosphere, allowing them to chat freely between bites.
Hearing that Zara's roommate wanted to start a business, Reid gladly laid out the blueprint of his own entrepreneurial success.
Lex absorbed every single word like a sponge.
In reality, out of the four girls in their dorm, she was the only one who desperately needed a lucrative venture.
After outlining his own journey, Reid asked about Lex's specific ideas.
"I want to start a professional concierge and domestic services agency."
"Even though I'm a math major, I'm infinitely more interested in making money..."
The moment she started talking about her vision, Lex shed her timid, small-town persona; she practically glowed with a newfound, radiant confidence.
"Right now, I'm personally washing clothes and shoes for other students, running errands as a personal shopper, and doing deep cleans for various dorms..."
Lex already had plenty of hands-on experience in the field.
Reid's advice echoed Claire's perfectly: he suggested she take a part-time job at an established agency to study their operational model from the inside.
Once she understood the mechanics, she could build her own brand.
For instance, to target the student demographic, she could hire other financially struggling students on campus to work for her.
Lex had a million ideas swirling in her head, and with no one to help her organize them before, she eagerly poured them all out to Reid.
Reid was more than capable of guiding her through the chaos.
With just a few sharp pointers from him, Lex felt as though a dense fog had completely lifted from her mind.
Tonight's dinner was turning out to be incredibly valuable.
She was profoundly grateful to Claire and the others.
Whenever an amazing opportunity like this arose, they always thought of her.
The other three didn't think it was a big deal at all.
To them, it was just a casual dinner out, but since Lex desperately needed this networking chance, bringing her along was a no-brainer.
As for Reid, whether his true intentions lay elsewhere remained to be seen, as he hadn't made any overtly obvious moves yet.
It was too early for the group to pass judgment.
After settling the bill, the four girls
didn't head straight back to the
dorm; instead, they took a leisurely strol through the bustling downtown shopping district.
They were all completely stuffed and needed the walk to digest their heavy meal.
They also took the chance to pick up some fresh fruit and snacks for their room. Reid didn't tag along for the walk.
He had received a work call and had to rush off to handle business.
The four college students completely understood that a successful professional had a demanding schedule.
They immediately turned their gossiping sights on Zara. "Haven't you told your family to demand Reid as compensation from the Daltons yet?"
"I did. My mom thought it was a brilliant idea, and she's planning to bring it up with the Daltons in a few days."
"But..." Now that the wheels were in motion, Zara actually started to hesitate.
"Reid is such a great guy. If he finds out I manipulated the situation to trap him, is he going to be furious?"
"He's so brilliant and built his own empire from the ground up. If he decides to make my life miserable in retaliation, I won't stand a chance."
Claire fought the urge to roll her eyes. "I think your precious Reid is incredibly open- minded; he's not going to make your life miserable."
"Look at how busy he is-he literally has zero time to date. If a gorgeous, ready-made wife drops right into his
lap hed be an absolute idrotto push laphed you away."
Zara fell silent. That logic was so flawless she couldn't even formulate a counterargument.
Claire couldn't be bothered to entertain her nervous rambling any longer.
With General Harrison Darwin no longer summoning her to the hospital at all hours, Claire finally had more time to actually attend her classes.
.
Her professors loved calling on her the moment she walked into the lecture hall, and without fail her flawless answers always left them thoroughly impressed.
Outside of class, Claire's only major commitments were performing acupuncture on
Walden and tweaking Meiko Fujii's holistic prescriptions.
