"If I heard correctly, the Chief Instructor just said the camp medics were out of options."
"Is our Claire really capable of handling something like that?"
Zara and Skylar couldn't help but feel skeptical. Was her medical knowledge really that advanced?
Lex, however, remembered the time Claire had saved a foreign girl while they were competing abroad.
"We need to have faith in her. Didn't she save someone right outside the school gates not too long ago?"
That reminder jogged their memories. They immediately recalled the legendary incident involving the chopsticks.
"Oh, right! I completely forgot about that. Maybe she's some sort of undercover medical prodigy."
Zara and Skylar nodded in unison.
They could only pray that Claire actually knew what she was doing.
Van rushed Claire straight to the infirmary.
The two of them sprinted across the compound at breakneck speed.
With the Chief Instructor leading the charge and Claire right on his heels, they pushed themselves to their absolute physical limits.
The scattered students lounging on the field watched the spectacle in confusion.
"Was that Chief Hawk? I think some girl is chasing him."
Since everyone was wearing identical camouflage uniforms, no one could identify Claire.
They simply marveled at the sheer courage of a cadet daring to chase down the terrifying commander.
The moment Claire burst into the infirmary behind Van, she immediately understood the gruesome details he had omitted earlier.
The student had definitely brought this upon himself.
The fall from the tree had indeed resulted in a penetrating trauma, but the location of
the injury was spectacularly unfortunate. The branch had impaled his groin.
It was a devastating, singular tragedy.
The boy was howling in absolute agony.
Even Claire winced in sympathy.
She had never heard a human being scream quite like that before.
"Doc, can it be saved?!"
The boy sobbed hysterically.
The camp medic was clearly at his wit's end. "It's completely ruptured! What exactly do you expect me to do?"
"Why didn't you consider the consequences before doing something so idiotic?"
"You managed to get into The Cabinda University, yet you act like you don't have a functioning brain!"
Dr. James scolded him relentlessly.
Typically, the medical staff at Camp
Blackwood enjoyed a breezy
schedule, dealing with nothing more
than heatstroke and blisters.
Now, some moron had practically impaled himself for a midnight snack.
The sheer absurdity of the situation and the ensuing paperwork was mind- boggling.
It took a special kind of stupid to pull off something like this.
"I know I messed up! Please just save me!"
Claire couldn't help but marvel at the spectacle. "With this level of trauma, it's a miracle he hasn't passed out from the pain. Men really do place as staggering amount of importance on their reproductive abilities."
The boy was teetering on the edge of consciousness.
Hearing Claire's voice, he fought through the agony to crack an eye open. "Who is
she? Why is there a girl in here?!"
Even if his manhood was destroyed, he refused to die in front of a female classmate!
How was he ever supposed to look anyone in the eye again?
"Oh, just shut up!"
Dr. James swiftly administered a sedative, knocking the hysterical boy out cold.
"Are you the miracle-working student Van told me about?"
Dr. James turned his skeptical gaze toward Claire.
Not only was she incredibly young, but she didn't look like an experienced medical professional.
Still, he had to admit, she seemed remarkably unfazed by the bloody, chaotic scene.
"I don't have my Golden Needles on me. Do you have a standard set of Claire
acupuncture needles here? 91
asked, skipping the pleasantries."
The medic nodded. "My name is James. You can call me Dr. James."
"I do have a set of needles on hand, but are you absolutely certain you can pull this
off?"
His brow furrowed so deeply it could have crushed a fly.
Claire didn't have time for his hesitation. "Just give them to me. Do you have a better plan?"
The ambulance was already waiting outside.
But the patient was bleeding out too quickly to be safely transported.
Dr. James instinctively looked to Van for confirmation.
The Chief Instructor issued a calm, uncompromising order. "Give them to her."
"But..." Dr. James protested, his anxiety spiking.
"I will take full responsibility for any consequences," Van stated firmly.
