Leia crossed her arms and faced Xavier with all the seriousness she could muster. “Xavier, you’re a man, and I’m a woman. It’s inappropriate for us to stay in the same room, so I suggest you stay in the cowshed. I can help you set up the bed,” she said, her tone leaving no room for negotiation.
Xavier looked at her helplessly, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. “Why should I stay in the cowshed? What if the cows attack me while I’m asleep? You can go and stay there. I don’t want to.”
And just like that, without an ounce of shame, he walked straight into the only guest room, as if the discussion was already over.
Leia stood there, utterly stunned. “Ugh, you’re really not a gentleman! I’m a woman, you know. What happens to my privacy if I stay in the cowshed?”
But Xavier was already gone, leaving Leia alone under the dim moonlight. Her face burned with frustration. If anyone needed proof that he was the most infuriating man she had ever met, tonight was living evidence. Still, she muttered under her breath and marched toward the cowshed, knowing full well that tomorrow’s welcoming feast had better be worth every sniffle and suspicious moo she was about to endure.
