# Chapter 21: A Grown Man's Hunger Strike — The Dumpling Wars Continue
Hello everyone, it's me again! How are you all doing? Today I will continue to walk with you and review Chapter 21 of "The Untouchable Ex Wife" — a chapter that proves even the most powerful CEO can be reduced to a petulant child when it comes to matters of the stomach... and matters of the heart.
---
The night had swallowed Renee whole as she stubbed out her cigarette and disappeared into the darkness, her slender silhouette melting into the shadows like smoke itself. But while she vanished into the quiet of the night, another storm was brewing on the hospital floors above.
Stefan Hunt — the formidable CEO whose very name sent shivers down the spines of corporate rivals — sat waiting. Waiting for dumplings. Specifically, seafood dumplings. The exact bowl of comfort he had grown inexplicably attached to over the past few days.
The afternoon came and went. No dumplings. Stefan gritted his teeth and endured, convincing himself that perhaps there was a delay. But when supper time arrived and still no steaming bowl of his beloved dumplings appeared, the man's patience snapped like a brittle twig.
"What happened? Why are there no dumplings today?" Stefan stopped a patrolling nurse mid-step, his tone sharp and demanding, while Seraphina rested peacefully nearby, blissfully unaware of the culinary crisis unfolding.
The poor nurse rubbed the back of her neck, clearly uncomfortable. "W... Well... They stopped serving it. Why don't you check out our other offerings, Mr. Hunt? We have steak, hamburgers, spaghetti..."
But Stefan would hear none of it. "I don't want any of that. I just want dumplings, seafood dumplings." And there it was — the mighty CEO had completely shed his polished corporate image, demanding his food like a stubborn child throwing a tantrum in a candy store.
The nurse stood there, utterly speechless. The realization dawned on her like a cold splash of water. "Please don't tell me you haven't eaten for the whole day."
"Exactly. I've been waiting for the entire day! I'm starving!" Stefan confessed without an ounce of shame. To him, the logic was simple: if he couldn't have his favorite dish, nothing else would do. He was not a man who settled for second best — not in business, not in love, and certainly not in food.
The nurse, genuinely worried that this stubborn man might actually harm himself, reluctantly agreed to investigate. "Then, hold on, I'll go ask the food court for you."
"Okay, I'll be waiting. Remember, my life is in your hands," Stefan said with a completely serious face, as if he were negotiating a multi-million dollar merger rather than begging for dumplings.
The nurse sighed in relief as Stefan finally retreated back into Seraphina's ward. She knew exactly where to go. Her feet carried her swiftly down the corridor to Jovan's ward on the same floor.
"Joan, can you come out for a bit? I have something I need to discuss." The nurse stood at the doorway, gesturing urgently toward Renee.
At that moment, Renee had just finished massaging Jovan, her hands gently working out the tension from his tired muscles. She turned to him with a soft smile. "It's getting late. You should get some rest."
"Mhm, good night, my dear," Jovan replied sweetly, his eyes warm with affection as he happily settled into bed, content and cared for.
Renee walked out, quietly closing the door behind her, and looked at the nurse with confusion etched across her features. "What is it this time?"
"What else? It's the seafood dumplings again!" The nurse made a face, openly mocking how childish Stefan was behaving. She shrugged helplessly. "What do we do now? Mr. Hunt is a grown man, but he's threatening me with starvation! Should we give it to him?"
Renee's eyebrows knitted together. "Has he really not eaten the whole day?"
"Yeah! Not just that, he hasn't even had a single drop of water!"
An exasperated groan escaped Renee's lips. "Ugh! He's so childish!" She wished she could march right into that ward and scream curses at the man's face. *'If I knew that he would be so ungrateful about it, I would've just left him to starve in the first place!'*
She stood there, arms crossed, anger simmering beneath her calm exterior. But the more she thought about it, the more her stubborn resolve began to crack. Try as she might, she just couldn't bring herself to ignore him completely.
"Wait here, I'll get some for him. And tell him this is the last time. He's not getting any more even if he starves himself!" She huffed, her words sharp but her actions betraying a lingering softness she refused to acknowledge.
And so, Renee found herself running through the dark streets once again, her footsteps echoing in the stillness of the night. The hour was late — dangerously late for any restaurant to still be operating. She wasn't even certain if Aeos restaurant would still be open, but determination propelled her forward.
After ten minutes of hurried running, she finally reached the restaurant. Her heart sank for a moment as she spotted the storekeeper cleaning up, clearly preparing to close for the night. But Renee refused to give up.
"Miss! Please wait!" Renee panted, her breath coming in ragged gasps as she rushed forward. "I want a bowl of seafood dumplings."
The storekeeper looked up, surprised to see her regular customer so late. "Joan, why are you so late? We're just about to close up," she said regretfully, though a hint of fondness colored her voice as she greeted the familiar face.
The night air was thick with the aroma of freshly prepared food and unspoken questions. Why would a woman who claimed to want nothing to do with Stefan Hunt go through such lengths to satisfy his cravings? Why would she brave the dark, empty streets and race against closing time just for a bowl of dumplings?
Perhaps even Renee herself couldn't fully answer those questions. But somewhere deep within her heart, buried beneath layers of hurt and resentment, a tiny ember of something undeniable still flickered.

## Reader's Impressions & Star Rating
What a deliciously frustrating chapter! Watching Stefan Hunt — this powerful, commanding CEO — reduced to a whining child over seafood dumplings is both hilarious and oddly endearing. It humanizes him in a way we haven't seen before, revealing a vulnerability that makes us wonder if there's more to his obsession than just food. And Renee? Oh, Renee! She claims she's done with him, yet here she is, running through dark streets at night to satisfy his childish demands. Her actions speak louder than her angry words, and it's clear that despite everything, she still cares more than she wants to admit. The push-and-pull tension between these two is absolutely captivating, and the irony of her serving his needs while staying by another man's side is a delicious twist of emotional complexity. This chapter is a perfect blend of humor, frustration, and unspoken longing!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 4.7 / 5 Stars
## Next Chapter Prediction
Based on this cliffhanger, I predict that Renee will deliver the dumplings to Stefan, and their encounter will spark an emotionally charged confrontation. With the late hour and their guards lowered, old feelings may resurface. However, Jovan's presence and Seraphina's situation will likely complicate everything — Stefan might push Renee to explain her choices, while Renee struggles to maintain her emotional walls. We may also see Stefan begin to sense that something about "Joan" feels painfully familiar, inching closer to discovering her true identity!
