Hello everyone, it's me again! How are you all doing? I hope life is treating you wonderfully and that you're ready for another deep dive into the whirlwind of emotions that is *The Untouchable Ex Wife*. Today, we're peeling back the layers of a very tense, very telling encounter between Renee and the man who once held her whole heart. Get ready for sarcasm, fiery chemistry, and a moment that proves some feelings just refuse to be doused—no matter how deep you try to bury them.

Renee took a few hurried steps backward, the cold night air clinging to her soaked clothes like a second skin. But she wouldn't let him see her shiver. No, she had her pride. She let out a few dry, theatrical coughs.

"Sir," she began, a smirk threatening to crack her carefully blank expression, "you don't have to be so awkward, you know? Did you get water in your brain when you dived into that lake? Because you're talking like a man who just lost his mind."

Stefan, however, was not the type to be swayed by mockery. He stood there like a hunter who had already cornered his prey, dark eyes fixed on her with an intensity that made the air around them feel heavy. "Don't change the subject. Just say yes or no."

His voice was low, measured, controlled—as if he were trying to peer straight through the fragile walls she had so carefully built around her heart. But Renee knew better. She knew that if she let even an inch of truth slip out, he would strip her bare. So she did what she always did when panicked: she deflected with absurdity and buried her real feelings under an avalanche of nonsense.

"Yeah, yeah..." Renee inhaled deeply, refusing to meet his gaze. She turned her face away, speaking to her own heart trembling inside her chest. Then, with all the dramatic flair she could muster, she unleashed a torrent of ridiculous words.

"Oh, Sir, my admiration for you is like a tsunami, whose waves fill my heart with love as they crash on the shore! I simply cannot wait to appear before you with a bouquet of flowers, where I can finally worship you for the beauty that you are! You have truly seduced me, oh my Prince Charming! Your mere presence has sent my soul on a romantic vacation, complete with seashells and love letters!"

For a full three seconds, the night was silent except for the wind rustling through the trees. Stefan's expression remained frozen—not in amusement, but in pure, stunned confusion. He blinked.

Renee lowered her voice, dropping the theatrics for a brief second. "Are you happy now? You don't have to act out the dominant CEO trope anymore. It's just so awkward."

The man was even more confused now. He opened his mouth to speak, but she was not about to give him the satisfaction.

"Still not satisfied?" she said, tilting her chin up defiantly. "I'm a professional *ss kisser, you know? I can go on for three whole days if you'd like. I'll write you odes, compose flattery sonnets—whatever it takes to make your brooding heart smile."

Stefan's face darkened. His jaw clenched so tightly it looked like he was grinding his teeth into dust. "That won't be necessary." His mind raced. *This woman is completely abnormal! I just wanted to probe the truth out of her, but I realized... she simply has no limits!*

Renee gave a cheerful, dismissive wave. "Is there anything else? If not, I'm really busy, my Prince Charming." She made to flee, because the truth was, she had almost no self-control when it came to him. Every second she spent near him felt like a warm fire threatening to consume her reservations. And the night was cold, and she was soaking wet, and her teeth were starting to chatter despite her brave performance.

Stefan, ever the master of detachment, simply nodded. "It's okay. You can go." He seemed to lose interest, deciding this wild woman was too crazy to read, too unpredictable to unravel.

Relieved but strangely disappointed, Renee spun on her heels and started walking. She had only managed a few feet when his deep voice cut through the darkness again.

"Hold on."

Her shoulders tensed. *What is it again?* She turned slowly, schooling her features into impatience.

"What?"

Stefan stepped forward and gently draped his dry jacket across her shoulders. His hands lingered near her arms for a moment longer than necessary, and his voice was laced with a teasing, half-serious tone. "It's a little cold. Put this on. Take good care of your body, you righteous gold-digger, or you won't have the strength to seduce anyone."

Renee felt a familiar heat bloom in her chest even as she balled her fists. She rolled her eyes and spat out with theatrical annoyance, "Yeah yeah, thank you, I'll even thank your whole family, Sir."

Then, her curiosity got the better of her. She couldn't stop knitting her brows and asking, "Why are you at the hospital? Are you a staff member here, or is your family sick?"

Stefan didn't answer. Instead, he gave her a look that was somewhere between amusement and dismissal. "None of your business. Go away."

Huffing, Renee clutched the jacket and stalked off—but she never dropped it over her shoulders. In all honesty, she still craved his warmth, his presence, his very essence in a way that made her heart ache with a bitterness she refused to voice. She had loved this man for most of her life. Loving him had become as natural as breathing. So even though her mind screamed at her to be careful, to run, to protect what little remained of her pride, her soul made a silent, quiet promise.

*This jacket will be my last act of caprice.*

A little token she had never truly deserved but couldn't resist taking with her. Just one more memory to burn into her skin before she finally, truly let go.

Back inside the hospital ward, Renee slipped into the small lounge next door and changed into dry, loose casual clothes. The jacket was carefully draped over the back of a chair, still carrying the faint scent of him.

After about a week of treatment, Jovan was able to sit up on his own. The moment he heard the woman moving about and the quiet shuffling of her steps, his concern flared. "Is something wrong?" he asked quickly, his voice scratchy but anxious.

"Nothing, I was just changing," Renee answered, emerging from the lounge with a calm smile. She had left Stefan's jacket in the room, trying to convince herself it was just a piece of fabric, nothing more.

But deep down, she knew. That jacket was thin, but it held enough emotional weight to drown her all over again if she ever let herself wear it.

Oh, my dear readers, what a chapter! So much was left unspoken between Renee and Stefan, yet the tension is so thick you could slice it with a knife. Renee's over-the-top act was both hilarious and heartbreaking—she would rather drown in absurdity than admit her true feelings. And Stefan? That jacket was no small gesture. Was he just teasing her, or was there a flicker of genuine care buried beneath his cold exterior?

The scene at the hospital, with Jovan recovering, reminds us of the complex web of loyalty and obligation that surrounds Renee. But what is truly buzzing beneath the surface is that unresolved bond between the ex-spouses. It's raw, complicated, and absolutely gripping.

### Reader's Impressions & Star Rating This chapter delivered a beautiful mixture of comedic deflection and emotional poignancy. Renee's rapid-fire nonsense speeches are comedic gold, yet they highlight her internal desperation and unyielding love for a man she knows she should hate. The visual of him draping his jacket over her shoulders—then her quietly keeping it despite all logic—broke my heart a little. The author masterfully balances humor and longing, making me laugh and sigh in equal measure.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rating: 4.8 / 5 Stars

### Next Chapter Prediction That jacket is not going to be forgotten so easily. I predict that in the next chapter, Renee's attempt to hide her still-simmering feelings for Stefan will completely unravel—possibly when Jovan notices the masculine jacket in her care, or when Stefan discovers she had never returned it. There might also be a dust-up at the hospital, or perhaps someone from Stefan's circle will pop up and stir the pot, forcing Renee into a corner where she must confront her bittersweet past one more time. Get ready for sparks to fly!
