# Chapter 305: Caught in the Crossfire of Love and Lies

Hello everyone, it's me again! How are you all doing? Today I will continue to walk with you and review Chapter 305 of "The Untouchable Ex Wife." This chapter is an absolute rollercoaster of tension, guilt, and raw emotion, as we find our heroine Leia trapped in the most compromising of situations, with everything hanging by a thread.

The morning air inside that modest cottage was thick with unspoken secrets, every heartbeat echoing louder than the last as pounding knocks shattered the fragile silence. Xavier leaned close to Leia, his warm breath ghosting against her ear as he whispered with pure, unabashed mischief: "Are you sure you want me to open the door for them now?"

Leia's blood ran cold. "No!" She shook her head so vigorously she feared it might detach from her shoulders, grabbing his arms in a desperate, vice-like grip to stop him from moving an inch. Her voice dropped to a furious hiss as she continued, "I'll kill you if you make a sound!"

Her mind raced at lightning speed. She would be utterly doomed if Santiago saw her here, tangled up in bed with Xavier like this. The thought alone made her stomach twist into painful knots. She didn't want things with Santiago to end so soon—not like this, not in such a humiliating way. She knew it was selfish of her, incredibly so. She was fully aware of her own greed, holding onto two flames that could easily consume her. But she couldn't help it.

Humans were greedy by nature, after all.

"Is there someone in there? We're coming in if not!" Megan's voice cut through the door like a sharp blade, and her knocking grew even more forceful. The fragile, weather-worn door creaked ominously under the assault, looking like it was on the verge of splintering into pieces at any moment.

Leia held her breath, pressing herself against Xavier's solid frame and clinging to him as though he were her only lifeline. She shut her eyes tight, the darkness behind her eyelids offering little comfort as she mentally scolded herself. How in the world had she gotten herself into this mess?

Now, Xavier's heart was a swirl of conflicting emotions. He felt uneasy, certainly, but he couldn't help being utterly amused by Leia's guilt-ridden expression. The way she scrunched up her face, the way her body tensed with terror—it was almost comical to him. A mischievous spark ignited within him, and before he could stop himself, his fingers found their way to her armpits and began tickling her mercilessly.

"Ah! Haha!" The laughter burst out of her like an explosion, uncontrollable and mortifying. The moment she realized what she'd done, she clamped her mouth shut in sheer horror, but it was far too late. The damage had been done.

The two people standing outside the cottage had heard everything.

"Who's in there? Can you say something? I would like to use this cottage?" Megan's voice called out again, tinged with suspicion and irritation.

Leia was flabbergasted, absolutely frozen in place as she covered her mouth with trembling hands. She turned her blazing gaze toward Xavier, who was grinning at her with mischievous delight, thoroughly enjoying the chaos he had just created. The absolute nerve of him!

There was a moment of silence that stretched on like an eternity, and then, mercifully, Santiago's calm voice cut through the tension. "Forget it. Let's go since there's someone in there. Don't trouble them," he said, ever the gentleman, ever considerate of others.

"Okay, Mr. Dalton." Although Megan's voice dripped with reluctance and obvious disappointment, she had no choice but to follow his wishes. The sound of their footsteps began to fade, growing softer and softer until they disappeared entirely into the distance.

A sigh of relief escaped Leia's lips—long, shuddering, and weighted with the release of unbearable tension. Her racing heart began to slow its frantic pace, and she felt as though she had just narrowly escaped a fate worse than death.

But that relief quickly transformed into righteous fury.

She spun around and punched Xavier hard, her fist connecting with his body in a burst of unleashed frustration. "Are you out of your mind? Why would you do that?" she hissed, her eyes blazing with indignation.

Xavier looked at her with unhappiness written plainly across his features. He rubbed the spot where she'd hit him and replied with a note of genuine confusion in his voice. "Everyone knows about our relationship, so why is it so embarrassing that you were alone in a room with me?"

But even as he said the words, he knew the real reason. He knew it deep in his bones, and the truth of it stung more than her punch ever could. Leia simply didn't want Santiago to find out about them. For Xavier, the logic was simple: he and Leia were a couple, full stop. Their relationship was out in the open, acknowledged, real. He couldn't understand why she was acting like a criminal caught in the act, like she was somehow cheating on Santiago.

To be honest, this dynamic was entirely foreign to him. Xavier had never experienced anything like this in a relationship before. He was used to being the center of attention, the one person his partner couldn't get enough of. But here he was, playing the role of the hidden lover, the secret shame, watching the woman he cared about scramble to hide any evidence of him from another man.

It was certainly humbling. Quite painfully so.

"Yes, it's embarrassing! I don't want to have anything to do with you!" Leia pushed him away with both hands, her words sharp enough to cut glass. She smoothed down her wrinkled clothes with quick, agitated motions, her mind already racing ahead to the problems she would have to face.

How was she supposed to explain this to Santiago later? What could she possibly say? Or... should she explain it at all? Perhaps silence was the better option. Perhaps she could simply pretend this entire incident never happened.

"Is that pretty boy so important to you? Don't tell me you've taken a fancy to him!" Xavier scoffed, watching her hurriedly make herself presentable. The jealousy in his voice was poorly concealed, if it was concealed at all. His eyes followed her every move as she climbed off the bed, ready to flee the scene like a criminal escaping justice.

Leia stopped in her tracks and turned to look at him challengingly, a defiant fire burning in her eyes. She lifted her chin and delivered her comeback with devastating precision: "It's none of your business. If you can enjoy the best of both worlds, why can't I?"

The words hung in the air like poison.

Without waiting for a response, she slipped out of the cottage through the side door, disappearing into the light outside. Her departure was swift and silent, leaving behind nothing but the ghost of her presence and the echo of her accusation.

And there Xavier sat, alone in the quiet room, the space beside him on the bed still warm from her body. He stared at the door through which she had vanished, and a bitter, painful chuckle escaped his lips. He shook his head slowly, pain flickering across his features as he whispered into the empty air:

"I've never done that to you, silly girl."

Those words carried the weight of injustice, the sadness of being misjudged, and the aching loneliness of loving someone who kept looking elsewhere. In that moment, Xavier's heart was laid bare—wounded by blame he didn't deserve, yet unable to let go of the one person who kept hurting him.

## Reader's Impressions & Star Rating

What an intense, emotionally charged chapter! The mix of comedic tension with Xavier's mischievous tickling and the underlying heartbreak of their strained relationship created a beautifully complex reading experience. Leia's conflicting desires are displayed so vividly—she's torn between two men, and her greed is painfully human. But my heart truly aches for Xavier in this chapter. His bitter confession, "I've never done that to you, silly girl," hit me like a punch to the gut. He's been faithful and honest, yet he's being treated like a dirty secret, and the injustice of it all is palpable. The chapter brilliantly captures that moment when you realize love and logic are two entirely different beasts. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 4.8 / 5 Stars.

## Next Chapter Prediction

Leia's sharp accusation about Xavier "enjoying the best of both worlds" was clearly her projecting her own guilt, but it makes me wonder—what will happen when she tries to face Santiago after this close call? Santiago is no fool, and there was something in Megan's persistence that feels suspiciously deliberate. I predict that Xavier, wounded by Leia's rejection, might just decide to take matters into his own hands. Could he expose their relationship to Santiago himself in a moment of bitterness or pride? And how will Leia handle the fallout if her carefully balanced double life begins to crumble? Something explosive is brewing on the horizon!
