# Chapter 70: The Blade at His Throat

Hello everyone, it's me again! How are you all doing? Today I will continue to walk with you and review Chapter 70 of "The Untouchable Ex-Wife" — a chapter that crackles with raw tension, shocking confessions, and a revelation that flips everything Renee thought she knew completely upside down. If you thought the previous chapters were intense, just wait until you see what happens when a desperate woman corners a man who knows far more than he's letting on... and when a Swiss Army knife enters the picture. Buckle up, because this ride is about to get dangerously sharp!

The air inside the car had become suffocating, thick with accusation and barely contained hysteria. Renee stood there, half-undressed, her entire body trembling like a leaf caught in a storm — not from cold, but from the sheer volcanic force of her emotions. She had been interrogating Stefan with the ferocity of a prosecutor, convinced beyond any shadow of doubt that he held the answers she so desperately sought. Where was Jovan? What had this man done to him?

But Stefan, ever the master of calm in the eye of chaos, simply looked at her — watched her spiral with that infuriatingly composed expression of his. And then, with a voice as steady as granite, he dropped a bombshell that shattered her entire theory into a million pieces.

"I won't tell you where Jovan is even if you were naked," he said evenly, each word landing like a stone in still water. "Because I have no idea where he is."

The confession hung in the air between them like smoke. He had finally said it — finally admitted the truth — because he could see exactly where this was heading. Renee's mind, brilliant as it was, had a talent for conjuring the most outrageous conclusions when her emotions took the wheel. And right now, she was careening down a road of reckless assumptions at full speed. One of them would end up driven completely insane at this rate, and Stefan had apparently decided it wouldn't be him.

Renee froze. Her hands, which had been mid-motion in her frantic undressing, stopped as if someone had pressed a pause button on her entire being. "What are you talking about?" Her voice came out in a bewildered whisper. "What do you mean you don't know where he is?"

Stefan leaned back against his seat with an air of bored indifference that would have infuriated anyone within a ten-mile radius. "He never stays put like you," he replied, his tone carrying that familiar edge of condescension. "And I guess he's now actually missing. It only begs the question of why you came to me at all." His eyes swept over her with visible contempt, as though she were a particularly slow student who had failed yet another examination.

But Renee was not about to be dismissed so easily. "How could you not know?!" Her voice rose, cracking with desperation and fury. "When that explosion happened, the chauffeur clearly heard the person who abducted Jovan say, 'Mr. Hunt sends his regards!' And there is no other Mr. Hunt except you!"

A ghost of a sneer crossed Stefan's handsome features. "Why me?" he challenged, his tone dripping with mockery. "There are plenty of Mr. Hunts across the globe." He paused, letting the weight of his words sink in before continuing. "Moreover, why are you so sure that the chauffeur was telling the truth? What if he was trying to frame me?"

The question lodged itself in Renee's mind like a splinter. Stefan had a point — a frustratingly valid one. He was certainly no stranger to being made a scapegoat. With the sheer number of rivals he had accumulated throughout his ruthless rise to power in Beach City, someone pointing a finger at him was practically a weekly occurrence. This crude, obvious setup did not bear the hallmarks of his usual sophisticated maneuvering.

And as her frantic thoughts began to settle, something else occurred to her — something that made her blood run cold for an entirely different reason. This kind of underhanded scheme... it actually fit Jovan's style of operation far better than it fit Stefan's.

Could it be possible that Jovan had orchestrated his own abduction?

Renee shook her head quickly, banishing the thought as quickly as it appeared. No. That made no sense. Jovan was crafty, yes, but he was not nonsensical. What would he possibly hope to achieve by such an elaborate charade? Was he trying to drive a wedge between her and Stefan? That would be utterly pointless — there was already no sentiment whatsoever between the two of them. She and Stefan were strangers bound only by the tattered remnants of a marriage certificate. Jovan had no reason to go to such extreme lengths.

But then... if not Jovan, and if not Stefan...

"It just doesn't make sense!" The words tore from her throat, raw and agonized.

And then, like a lawyer producing her smoking gun, Renee whipped out the crumpled piece of paper she had been carrying so close to her heart — the note that had sent her racing to Stefan in the first place. Her hand shook as she thrust it toward him. "If it wasn't you, then why'd you leave this note for me?!" she cried out in agitation. "This is obviously your handwriting! 'You reap what you sow. Come to me if you want him back.' Obviously it means I should meet you if I want him back! What do you have to say now?"

Stefan glanced at the note with barely concealed disinterest. And then, with the kind of casual admission that makes the ground fall out from under a person's feet, he said, "I did write the note."

For a split second, Renee felt a surge of vindication. But it was short-lived, because Stefan immediately continued, "But I wasn't referring to Jovan."

The words hit her like a physical blow. "Not Jovan?" she echoed, utterly lost. "Then who?"

Stefan's gaze locked onto hers, sharp and unreadable. "Quinton."

The name struck her like lightning. Her breath caught in her throat. Quinton — her biological brother. The brother she had been desperately searching for, the one whose fate had been shrouded in mystery and torment.

"You mean... you're the one behind what happened to him?!" Renee's body tensed instantly, every muscle coiling with dawning horror and rage. One bombshell after another — her mind reeled. She had been agonizing over the lack of clues regarding her brother's attackers, turning over every stone and finding nothing. And now, this man was casually admitting to everything?

"How dare you hurt my brother!" The fury erupted from her like a volcano finally releasing centuries of pressure. "I should skin you... and it'd still serve you right!"

She was beyond reason, beyond caution, beyond everything except the primal need for answers and vengeance. Her eyes darted around the car wildly until they landed on something glinting in the shadows — a Swiss Army knife. With lightning speed, she snatched it up, flicked it open, and pressed the cold blade against Stefan's neck.

Her voice dropped to a dangerous, trembling whisper. "Where's my brother?!"

The chapter ends on this razor's edge — literally and figuratively. One wrong move, one twitch of Stefan's throat muscles against that blade, and this confrontation could spill blood. The question hangs in the air like a guillotine poised to drop: What secrets will Stefan reveal now that he stands at knifepoint? And more importantly, what has truly happened to both Jovan and Quinton?

**Reader's Impressions & Star Rating:**

Oh my goodness, what an absolutely electrifying chapter! The tension in this scene was so thick you could have cut it with that Swiss Army knife Renee brandished! I absolutely loved seeing Renee pushed to her absolute breaking point — she's always been a strong character, but there's something deeply compelling about watching her raw, unfiltered vulnerability crash against Stefan's impenetrable calm. And that plot twist about the note referring to Quinton instead of Jovan? Absolutely brilliant! It completely reframes everything we thought we knew and opens up a whole new web of intrigue. Stefan remains as infuriatingly enigmatic as ever, and the cliffhanger has me practically screaming for more!

**Next Chapter Prediction:**

With a blade pressed to his throat, Stefan will have no choice but to reveal the truth about Quinton's whereabouts. But don't expect him to remain at a disadvantage for long — Stefan Hunt is not a man who submits to threats quietly. I predict that this confrontation will take a shocking turn, possibly with Stefan dropping an even bigger bombshell about the connection between Quinton's disappearance and the people hunting Renee. And somewhere out there, the mystery of Jovan's abduction continues to loom... could the chauffeur have been lying all along, or is there a third player pulling strings that neither Renee nor Stefan have yet uncovered?
