Emma
Emma walked down the hotel hallway with her head held high, feeling the heat of Mark’s
presence close beside her. Her pulse thrummed with a sense of power that she hadn’t felt in
weeks. She’d chosen to be here, on her terms, and the anticipation simmering within her.
Mark’s hand rested gently on her lower back as they walked, a tentative touch, as if he was
afraid she might pull away. She could feel his breath coming a bit too fast, sense his
desperation in the way his fingers lingered there, warm and protective, his touch a silent
question. She didn’t answer it—she didn’t need to. She simply moved forward, letting him
guide her to the door, knowing that he would follow wherever she led.
Inside, he closed the door softly, his hand sliding from her back to her hand, catching it in his
own, holding her as if he was terrified she’d vanish if he let go. She turned to face him, feeling
his gaze wash over her.
“Emma...” he whispered, his voice barely audible as he brought her hand to his lips, brushing
the lightest kiss against her knuckles. “I’m yours. Anything you need... anything you want...
just tell me.”
Emma felt a warmth spreading low in her stomach, a tingling that made her skin feel overly
sensitive, as though every inch of her was suddenly aware of the closeness between them. Her
heart pounded faster, her breath coming shallow and uneven, and she could feel her cheeks
flush, the heat cre eping up her neck.
But beneath the thrill of attraction was a nervous flutter. Her hands trembled slightly. Her
palms were damp, and she k ept fidgeting, a mix of
anticipation and self-consciousness swirling inside her, leaving her both excited and painfully
aware of her own vulnerability.
She could sense his torment, his desire to prove himself worthy of her presence, and it only
fueled her confidence. Tonight, she would take what she wanted.
She st epped closer, meeting his gaze directly, and lifted her free hand to his cheek, feeling the
roughness of his stubble under her fingertips. He leaned into her touch, his eyes closing as he
inhaled de eply, almost as if he were afraid to breathe, afraid to break the spell she was
casting. When he opened his eyes, they were dark with longing, his lips parted slightly as he
searched her face, waiting, always waiting for her lead.
His hands rose to her face, cradling her gently, his thumbs brushing over her cheekbones in a
touch so tender it made her heart twist. There was no rush in his movements, only a profound
attentiveness, a silent promise that he was fully, completely here for her, ready to give
whatever she needed. She could feel the ache in his touch, the love and loathing tangled
together, his need to serve her, to worship her in a way that went beyond mere words.
“Mark,” she murmured, leaning into his hands, feeling the warmth of his palms against her
skin. “Tonight, I’m not here to forgive. I’m here because I want this. I need you to fuck me. No
history, no feelings, just sex.”
He let out a shaky breath, his gaze flickering with a mix of arousal and sadness, and he pulled
her closer, his hand slipping from her cheek to the back of her neck, his fingers threading into
her hair. He pressed his forehead against hers, his breaths mingling with hers, his voice
hoarse and thick with emotion.
“I’ll be anything you need, Emma,” he whispered. “I just want to be near you. I want... I want
you to feel everything I feel for you.”
She tilted her chin up, brushing her lips against his, feeling his shudder as he returned the kiss
with a reverence that felt like an apology, a
promise, and a plea all at once. She de epened it, letting herself sink into the warmth of him,
savoring the feeling of his devotion, the way he responded to her touch like she was the only
woman who had ever existed.
As Mark moved above her, his touch was soft yet insistent. Emma closed her eyes,
surrendering to the warmth of his skin, the familiar press of his body. She wanted to lose
herself in the sensation, to let the pleasure drown out everything else. But as his lips trailed
along her neck, a sudden image of that other woman flashed through her mind—a stranger in
her place, feeling his hands, his mouth, the same way she was now.
A rush of bitterness filled her, tainting the moment. Was this how it had felt for her? Had she
closed her eyes and let him touch her like this, whispering the same things, feeling the same
sparks that Emma felt now?
As if sensing her distraction, Mark slowed, lifting his head to meet her gaze, his eyes searching
hers with a de ep, steady intensity. He didn’t say anything, just held her, his thumb brushing
gently along her cheek. His touch was tender, grounding, and she felt herself soften, her heart
aching at the unspoken reassurance he was offering her.
“Emma,” he whispered, his voice full of a quiet reverence that cut through her anger, her
doubt. His hand slipped down to lace his fingers through hers, pressing their hands together
against the sheets. “Stay with me,” he murmured, a hint of plea in his tone, as if her presence
in this moment was the only thing that mattered.
She nodded, taking a de ep breath as she tried to quiet the questions swirling in her mind.
With her eyes open, she could see him fully—the raw, naked vulnerability in his gaze, the
anguish he didn’t try to hide. He was here, with her, entirely focused on her, not a hint of
distraction. This was real, undeniable, and it wasn’t just physical. His eyes were filled with a
kind of love, a desperation to give her every piece of himself, and it tore down the walls she’d
tried so hard to ke ep up.
As he kissed her, pulling her back into the moment, she felt the doubts fade, the intrusive
memories of someone else dissipating in the face of what was real, right here. This wasn’t
casual or meaningless, despite how
she’d tried to frame it. There was nothing indifferent in the way he touched her, in the way
his gaze held hers, unwavering and unrelenting, as if he needed her more than the air he
breathed.
With each gentle movement, he drew her back, dissolving her doubts with a tenderness that
felt like a balm over the wounds she still carried. She knew now that she was losing control of
the situation. This was no longer about satisfying her own desires or regaining some sense of
control. This was him, showing her his love without words, his own silent, fervent apology.
And as she let herself lean into it, she knew she couldn’t pretend anymore.
Mark was hers in this moment, and despite everything that had happened, despite every
broken part of her heart, she felt herself believe, even if only for now, that he wanted no one
but her.
