As he grinned, his mind was already running through countless ways to capture Ghost Doctor and torture Demon.
However, the moment they stepped onto the courtyard lawn, the ground suddenly gave way, and a high-voltage electric net shot up.
Caught completely off guard, several team members were electrocuted, their bodies crackling and convulsing before collapsing.
The air filled with the smell of scorched flesh.
Screams echoed one after another.
In just a dozen seconds, Black Mirage's team had lost more than half of its members.
By the time Black Mirage realized something was wrong, it was too late.
They were surrounded by electric nets.
He and a few of his trusted men had no way to escape and were forced back against the fountain in the center of the courtyard, standing back-to-back.

Black Mirage's eyes were bloodshot with fury as he stared at the charred bodies on
the ground, so angry he wanted to roar.
A slender, cool figure cast a long shadow under the moonlight.
Black Mirage immediately looked up and saw a girl in a white T-shirt and black pants, standing on the steps not far away with her hands in her faraway
pockets, looking down on them her trapped prey.
Her sharp, imposing aura overlapped with his memory of the girl who had single- handedly stormed his stronghold and beat him to the ground.
Serena's gaze was razor-sharp, cutting through Black Mirage as she appraised her broken prey.
Seeing his pathetic state, a smile touched her lips. She spoke in fluent Norvane. "Black Mirage, I've been waiting for you."
"You people are a bunch of low-life cowards! Dirty snakes!" Black Mirage snarled in broken Elyndorian.
He stared at Serena, his eyes filled with hatred. "You're fine! How are you fine!"
"Despicable? Shameless?" Serena scoffed coldly, but the smile didn't reach her eyes, which were
bone-chillingly cold. "You tried tonet
target my family to threaten me, and you think that's not despicable and, shameless?"
She raised her hand and flicked a stack of photos at him. They cut through the air
with a whoosh.
"You don't have what it takes to touch the people I care about."
Black Mirage caught them and flipped through.
The photos showed several bodies dressed in special Norvane style.
The faces of the men were clearly visible.
They were the assassins Black Mirage had sent to lurk near the Lancaster family estate, intending to kidnap them to use as leverage against Serena.
In the corner of one photo, a masked man wearing clothes with the Ghost Alliance emblem was flashing a peace sign at the camera.
Seeing the rows of bodies and the masked man's provocative gesture, Black Mirage's face turned ashen with rage. He threw the photos to the ground.
Watching his furious and flustered display, Serena's crimson lips curled. "Since I knew you were targeting me, how could I not have a backup plan?"
