"Mr. Lancaster! Chairman Lancaster! Mr. Julian Lancaster!" Patrick grinned, his expression utterly sycophantic. He rubbed his hands together, his posture extremely deferential. "Mrs. Lancaster, what a coincidence! To think we'd meet here again. It must be fate..."
A group of bodyguards immediately stepped forward to block them.
The Lancasters frowned slightly.
With an unreadable expression, Old Mr. Lancaster raised a hand, signaling the bodyguards to stand down.
Seeing this, Patrick was even more ecstatic, his fawning smile stretching from ear to
ear.
"Mr. Lancaster, you remember me, don't you? Patrick from the Wynn Group! Ah, we were so close to being partners before, what a pity..."
As he spoke, he continued to rub his hands together, carefully watching the Lancasters' expressions.
He was hoping they might relent and give them a few more contracts.
If the Wynn Group could just secure a contract with the Lancaster Corporation, the Wynn family would be able to hold their heads much higher at this banquet tonight!
But the Lancasters just stared back with cold indifference, showing no intention of engaging.
Patrick wasn't deterred. He just smiled more broadly, his eyes darting about as a calculating expression took over his face.
He glanced at Julian and immediately pushed Hailey forward from behind him. “Mr. Lancaster, Chairman Lancaster, Mr. Julian Lancaster, this is my young daughter, Hailey."
"Hailey, hurry and say hello!"
This eldest grandson of the Lancaster family was still unmarried!
Sure... he was about ten years older than Hailey, but that wasn't a problem!
He was handsome and the heir to the Lancaster family fortune; one day, it would all be his.
If Hailey could just marry Julian...
Patrick's smile grew even more excited, and he was tempted to just shove Hailey directly into Julian's arms.
The Lancasters looked at this uncomfortably sycophantic family and exchanged a glance.
It seemed the Wynns...
had no idea about their relationship with Serena.
Catherine looked at their fawning, materialistic, and cruel faces and suddenly found the situation laughable.
Thank goodness...
Her Serena hadn't grown up around these people. Otherwise, who knows what she would have become.
But then, thinking of all the injustices and hardships Serena had suffered, she felt a pang of heartache.
Her Serena had managed to become so exceptional despite being in such a foolish family; couldn't imagine how much she must have suffered in private.
However, in the eyes of the Wynn family, Catherine's smile was seen as a sign of
goodwill from the matriarch of the richest family!
"Hailey, this is all thanks to you!"
Marianne patted the back of Hailey's hand excitedly, standing up ramrod straight,
her face a mixture of pride and excitement.
It must be because of Hailey's good
relationship with the Lancaster heiress! She must have put in a good word for them with her family which is why the Lancasters were treating them with special favor!
Hailey hadn't expected it either. The "Isabella” she had been fawning over for days was truly as kind as she seemed.
They had only known each other for a short time, yet Isabella had already put in a
good word for the Wynn family with her own!
She was so lucky to have met such an heiress.
Could it be that she really was a lucky charm?
Just as she was thinking this, the car door opened again.
Isabella, who had been hiding inside to touch up her makeup and ensure she looked
absolutely perfect, stepped out, holding the hem of her dress.
She was wearing an exquisite evening gown custom-made by the master designer Antonio, luxurious in every detail. Every line and feature of the dress shimmered brilliantly.
Her makeup was flawless.
Radiant and dazzling, she truly looked like a noble princess.
Hailey's fingers clenched tightly.
Looking at that impossibly luxurious outfit, her eyes filled with envy and jealousy.
