Isabella turned to Silas. "Silas, don't be mad. She grew up in the countryside and has never seen a situation like this. She doesn't know what a financial war is. She isn't trying to cause trouble."
It sounded like a caring sister defending her sibling, but in reality, she was portraying Serena as an ignorant, uneducated country bumpkin in front of all the international executives, hoping to highlight her own grace and understanding.
Sure enough, the executives and board members on the screen frowned deeply. They were clearly disappointed in Silas for allowing this interruption during such a vital moment. And it was all because of Serena. If she compromised his authority, Silas would surely resent her!
"Shut up," Silas's voice cut through the room, cold and heavy.
The terrifying pressure in his tone silenced Isabella and the entire video conference. The room fell dead quiet.
"Get out," Silas repeated coldly.
Isabella rejoiced inwardly. Serena had completely angered Silas! Let's see how she acts arrogant now.
Suppressing a smirk, Isabella stepped in front of Serena like a protective shield. "Silas, she didn't mean it, you..."
"I said, get out," Silas's icy gaze locked onto Isabella. His voice dripped with frost.
Isabella's words died in her throat, her expression freezing.
He was telling her to shut up and get out? But Serena was the one causing a scene!
Pale and trembling, Isabella opened her mouth to argue, but met Silas's freezing stare. It felt as if he could sẽe right through her soul, reading her dirty little schemes. Her heart dropped. The words died on her tongue.
Red-eyed and humiliated, she whispered, "Yes..." and slowly shuffled toward the door.
The next second, the terrifying aura around Silas vanished. As he looked at Serena, the usually stern, store man wore an expression thatcould only be described as... eager?
The head of the Vinton family was looking at Serena with pure anticipation.
"Serena," Silas softened his voice, asking tentatively. "Do you have any thoughts on this?"
Isabella stopped dead in her tracks, turning back in sheer disbelief.
Even the executives on the screen were stunned. Had their boss lost his mind? This was a massive financial war a coordinated short attack And he was asking a teenager for her opinion? What could she possibly know? He should be figuring out how to stop the
bleeding!
