"I'll be taking her to the Rodriguez residence on Friday night."
"Okay."
A wave of relief washed over Celeste. After a brief pause, she added, "Thank you."
Trevor hummed in reply.
And that was it. No invitation for Trevor himself. No request for him to come. Celeste had never asked whether he was free on Saturday when she extended her invitations. Not this time either.
Besides, he had already passed the auction item to her – a clear signal that she should give the gift to Betty on his behalf. He wouldn't be coming.
