Chapter 1046:

Robin was left torn between exasperation and amusement, a resigned smile tugging at his lips.

Life was about cherishing the bright moments and the people who truly cared, or else one risked being swallowed in regret.

Two hours later, Robin received the employment contract that he had secretly asked his lawyer to draft. Glancing over the domineering terms, he wickedly smiled. He was all set to dupe Dylan.

At first, Robin had planned on generous conditions, but Chloe’s actions had changed his mind. Sibling debts, after all, were meant to be shared!

Robin seized his chance when Dylan was sitting alone in the living room and sauntered over, the employment contract clutched tightly in his hand. “How about we play a little game?”.

Robin suggested smoothly, his eyes locked on Dylan while the contract remained hidden behind his back, a mischievous grin tugging at his lips.

Dylan instantly sensed trouble—Robin was definitely scheming something. “Alright, what kind of game?”.

Dylan replied with casual ease, deciding to play along just to see what Robin was up to.

“Let’s make it a signing game. How does that sound?”.

Robin proposed, his smile threatening to break wider despite his attempt to hold back.

“Signing, signing, I’ll sign my name…”.

Dylan echoed with a foolish grin, though a sly glimmer flickered in his eyes.

The thought of pulling one over on Dylan sent Robin into a fit of laughter. “Pfft!”.

He burst out, unable to hold it back, giddy at the idea. Even his grandfather had always been cautious of Dylan’s cunning, and here he was, about to trap Dylan into becoming his chef for life. Just the thought was exhilarating—he was determined to make the most of Dylan’s cooking talents.

“What’s so funny?”.

Dylan asked, blinking “innocently”.

as if baffled.

“Oh, nothing. Just remembered something hilarious,”.

Robin replied quickly, struggling to smother his laughter so he wouldn’t spook Dylan.

A faint smirk ghosted across Dylan’s lips as he lowered his gaze, concealing the schemes already turning in his own mind. Hilarious, was it? He wondered if Robin would still find it hilarious in just a moment. To trick even a man with supposed memory loss—Robin truly had no shame.

“Here you go,”.

Robin said, slipping a pen into Dylan’s hand as he finally produced the contract.

Pointing at the signature line, Robin coaxed Dylan with exaggerated gentleness, “If you obediently sign right here, you win. But if you write it wrong, you lose.”

“Alright,”.

Dylan agreed at once without the slightest hesitation. His sharp eyes skimmed the contract in seconds, immediately recognizing it as a one-sided deal. Robin wanted nothing more than to make him a personal cook with outrageous terms.

“Come on, sign here,”.

Robin urged, his impatience leaking through. If Dylan didn’t sign before the others came back, his whole plan would collapse. But Dylan only grinned foolishly, twirling the pen between his fingers instead of writing his name.

“Oh, for heaven’s sake! What’s so fascinating about a pen?”.

Robin snapped, his anxiety clear as he grabbed Dylan’s wrist and took a steadying breath. “Just sign your name here. The second you’re done, you win, and then I’ll buy you any toy you want,”.

Robin coaxed again, his voice full of forced patience. He even considered forcing Dylan’s hand across the page himself but worried the handwriting wouldn’t match and the signature might be void.
