Chapter 1114:
The thought of Dylan likely remembering all this after he recovered sent a deep flush over Christina’s face. Even the tips of her ears burned. She turned her head away, avoiding his eyes, her thoughts tangled. Sleep slowly overcame her, and she drifted into slumber.
Dylan, however, remained awake, quietly studying the calmness of her face as she slept. His arms held her tighter. When he returned to his old self, moments like this would vanish. He treasured every fleeting day he still had to hold her close. He wondered when she would truly accept him and allow him into her heart.
Two days later, a voice called out to Christina right after she walked out of the Dawson residence. “Christina!”
Without looking, Christina immediately knew the voice—it was Yolanda. Lifting her eyes, she spotted Yolanda, glowing with delight, walking toward her arm in arm with Brendon.
Christina’s brows drew together. She had barely stepped away from the Dawson residence, and already she had to face these two bad pennies.
From Yolanda’s smug smirk and the glint of provocation in her eyes, Christina was certain they had come to show off once again.
Christina had no idea what Yolanda was trying to flaunt this time. With an icy look, she asked, “What is it now?”
“Christina, you still hold a grudge against us, don’t you?” Yolanda’s eyes glistened, her voice heavy with mock grievance.
“Did you really come all this way just to spout nonsense?” Christina’s tone cut sharp as a blade.
“Christina, watch your manners. Don’t think you can behave so outrageously just because you’ve got my grandmother supporting you,” Brendon said, his brows drawn in displeasure.
Lately, he had found himself replaying Christina’s words from that day. She had boasted of having countless men around her and sworn she would never come back to him. The memory burned in his chest. She had spoken with such certainty, clearly emboldened by those men.

Christina gave a cold laugh. “Yes, your grandmother supports me. And you? If you don’t have her support, get out of my way.”
“You—!” Brendon’s fury surged, his face twisting with rage, but Yolanda quickly caught his arm.
“Brendon, please don’t be angry. Christina didn’t mean to be so harsh. If anyone should take the blame, it’s me. My presence must have sparked her displeasure, thus her rudeness toward you. Still, I don’t hold it against her,” Yolanda said softly.
Yolanda turned her gaze back to Christina, her expression painted with grievance, as though she were the victim. Yet, in her eyes glimmered provocation and smug pride. “Christina, we’re here to invite you to our wedding.” With that, Yolanda drew out a paper. “Look, this is our marriage certificate. We’ve already registered. After the fashion design competition, Brendon and I will hold the wedding. We hope you’ll attend.”
