She was certain Brendon must be seething with resentment after losing his first child.
He still didn’t know she had never been pregnant. To him, he was enduring the anguish of a father robbed of his own flesh and blood.
He had only just begun to savor the happiness of impending fatherhood, only to be hurled almost instantly into despair. It had been his first child, and the grief bore down on him like a crushing weight.
But even through the torment, he couldn’t bring himself to lay the blame on his mother.
“No, you’re not moving anywhere. The villa at Bayview Estates is already under your name—it belongs to you now,” Brendon said with steady resolve.
“But your mother doesn’t allow me to stay…” Yolanda sobbed, her tears flowing freely.
“I’ll have the property manager revoke her access so she can’t enter or disturb you,” Brendon decided, believing it to be the only way forward.
Joselyn stiffened, then rage and sorrow surged through her veins.
She couldn’t comprehend how her own son could place another woman above his own mother.
“Why? I’m your mother! How could you treat me this way?” Joselyn cried, her voice trembling with fury.
Brendon’s gaze turned cold. “You brought this upon yourself. If you want peace in your later years, you’d better stop causing chaos.”
His words sliced through her heart like sharpened blades.
She clenched her fists tightly, consumed by anguish.

“Had I known you’d marry someone even more troublesome, I never would have allowed you to leave Christina,” she spat.
At the sound of Christina’s name, Brendon’s brow furrowed, his emotions caught in turmoil.
Yolanda shot Joselyn a venomous glare.
That despicable woman! Of all moments, Joselyn had to bring up Christina now? Did she truly believe she could drag Christina back into Brendon’s life?
Yolanda would never let it happen, and Christina would never have any chance to come back.
Yolanda would hold on to her place as Brendon’s wife, and no one would ever strip it away from her.
“I’m sorry, Joselyn. I’m nowhere near as capable as Christina, leaving you ashamed of me,” Yolanda wept, her hand pressing against her abdomen. “Perhaps it was my own failing that shamed my child, driving it to leave me so soon.”
