“Stop staring at me like that!”

Dylan chuckled and caught her hand in his.

“I could stare at you forever,” he said simply.

Christina’s cheeks went pink again.

“I’m done—let’s eat,” she said quickly, ducking past him and hurrying out of the room.

Dylan watched her go shyly, his smile growing deeper.

Yep. His Chrissie was the cutest person on the planet.

No one else even came close.

As he followed her to the dining room, he couldn’t help the quiet pride blooming in his chest.

She was his everything—his joy, his peace, his home.

And just having her by his side? That was something to be proud of for the rest of his life.

Dylan set a bowl of oatmeal in front of Christina. “Careful, it’s hot.”

“Thanks,” she said, blowing gently on the steaming oatmeal before taking a small, eager bite.

Her eyes immediately lit up. “Wow, it tastes even better than it looks.”

“Eat as much as you want. There’s plenty more in the pot. Take your time—just don’t burn yourself or choke,” Dylan cautioned, his voice low and warm, wrapping around her like a soft blanket.

“Okay, you should eat too,” Christina said, tugging him to sit beside her.

Dylan ladled some oatmeal into a bowl for himself. “I’ve already started handling the online slander against you. It’ll be taken care of today.”

Christina smiled, impressed. “You’re always so quick to fix my problems. Thanks for doing this.”

Dylan couldn’t help but grin—her praise made his chest swell with happiness. He couldn’t believe she had just praised him.

“No trouble at all. I want to protect you,” he said with a gentle smile.

Christina’s expression turned serious. “So, who caused Yolanda’s miscarriage?”

“From the look of things, it appears to be Joselyn,” Dylan said.

“What? Could Yolanda have caused the miscarriage herself and framed Joselyn?” Christina asked.

“You’re halfway there,” Dylan said, wiping a smear of oatmeal from her mouth. “Yolanda wasn’t actually pregnant. She pretended to be, then faked the miscarriage to pin it on Joselyn.”

Christina sighed, feeling the weight of injustice. “So it’s really unfair that I got blamed for this.”
