Married at First Sight
Chapter 4673
Nine o’clock in the evening.
Du Du’s Villa.
Serenity emerged from the children’s room to find her husband waiting for her at the door, holding their daughter.
“Baby, are you asleep?”
Zachary asked softly, handing their daughter to Serenity.
“Belle loves to follow you around at night.”
Belle is usually sensible, well-behaved, and adorable, but once she cries, she’s hard to coax and insists on following her mother. Especially at night, she clings to Serenity like a piece of taffy. Even
the old lady can’t take care of her at this time.
The old lady says that a child is a child of her own, and usually Belle stays at the villa, cared for by the old lady and other elders.
But the little girl still clings to her mother the most.
Serenity held her daughter in her arms and gently pinched her face.
“It’s already nine o’clock, and you’re not asleep yet? Your brother’s already asleep.”
Zachary closed the door to the children’s room for his son.
“Baby fell asleep so quickly,”
Serenity said as they returned to their room with their husband, carrying their daughter. “We had a blast all day and went swimming. We’re tired, so we fall asleep as soon as we hit the bed.”
“Mom,”
Belle called softly, hugging Serenity’s neck.
“Well, what’s wrong?”
Belle rested her head on her mother’s shoulder, her expression full of coquettishness.
Zachary reached out and touched his daughter’s face.
“It’s been so long since she saw Daddy, and she won’t talk to him. Just now, when you were trying to coax her to sleep, her little mouth was pouting, and I had to carry her out to find you.”
Serenity said, “If you play with her for two days, she’ll be willing to go. We’ve been apart for ten days after all.”
Belle was only a year and a half, still young, and it was time for her to cling to her mother.
During the day, anyone in the family could take care
of her. At night, few could.
The couple returned to their room, and Zachary went to make formula for their daughter.
Serenity carried their daughter directly into the bedroom, laid Belle on the bed, and she followed suit.
“Belle, go to bed early! You don’t sleep much during the day.”
Belle had been playing with her brothers and didn’t sleep much, so she should be sleepy at this hour.
In the past, Belle would go to bed around 8:00, but only after her mother had put her to sleep.
Serenity would start putting her daughter to bed at 8:30 every night, and only after she fell asleep would she resume the tasks she had brought home.
“Daddy,”
Belle rolled over and sat up, calling out to the bedroom.
Serenity sat up, saying, “Daddy’s making formula.”
Belle crawled into her arms, wanting to be held, and occasionally called “Mommy.”
Soon, Zachary came in with the bottle.
Belle still drank 150ml of formula before bed, a habit she had developed since weaning.
Zachary handed the bottle to his daughter.
“Mommy, feed her.”
Belle refused to take the bottle, asking Serenity to feed her formula.
Serenity, holding her in one arm and taking the bottle with the other, said, “You’re not hungry enough. If you were starving, you’d have taken the bottle and started drinking.”
Zachary sat down on the edge of the bed.
“How could I possibly let her starve?”
The nanny would feed her at set times, three meals a day, on time.
Her mother fed her formula twice a day, morning and evening, and sometimes, when she woke up for her lunch break, she’d clamor for a drink of formula.
