Married at First Sight

Chapter 4700

Maddox Zhang said with a smile, “Mr. York likes Romina ( Lan Ruoruo ), just say you like her directly, why go around in so many circles.”

“I said, I won’t beat around the bush now.”

River York raised the bouquet of flowers and gifts he bought, “We’re in the process, but I don’t know when we can invite Mr. Maddox to your wedding.”

Maddox suddenly patted him on the shoulder, “Come on, Mr. York, we are all looking forward to your wedding, but you two are notorious enemies, and the problems standing between you are too big.”

“I’m afraid it’s difficult to solve, Mr. York, how about you sell all your shares in Yangtai to me?”

“Why don’t you sell your shares in Zhang’s to me, Mr. Maddox? I can afford to buy out Zhang’s.”

Maddox laughed, “Just kidding, I believe Mr. York can solve the problem, let’s go, let’s go in together.”

He walked in first.

River York immediately followed, “Young Master Zhang, are you competing with me fairly?”

Maddox glanced at him and admitted, “I’m no match for President York. I’m very tactful and won’t compete with him. I didn’t come to the Lafond Group specifically to see Romina ( Lan Ruoruo ). Can’t I come to see Donovan Lafond?”

River York smiled, “Of course.”

So he was looking for his future brother-in-law. Fortunately, he wasn’t competing with him for Romina ( Lan Ruoruo ).

The two of them took the elevator upstairs together.

River York got off at Romina ( Lan Ruoruo )’s office, while Maddox took the elevator straight to the top floor. Donovan Lafond’s CEO’s office was located on the top floor, as was Mr. Lafond’s chairman’s office.

The Donovan Lafond siblings were capable, but Mr. Lafond, the chairman, rarely returned to the company anymore, leaving all matters, big and small, to the younger generation.

He was semi-retired

and wanted to be like his son and daughter-in-law: hanging out, playing chess with friends, fishing, and just living the normal, relaxed lifestyle of an elderly person. However, many of his old friends were still concerned about the family business, and not all of their children and grandchildren were as capable as his.

Many heirs to wealthy families had, after taking over, run their companies into disarray, leading to repeated losses and forcing the retired elders to step back in and turn the tide.

They couldn’t just stand by and watch the younger generation squander their empire.

Some successors were more than capable, managing to maintain the business, rather than taking radical steps.

But in today’s climate, many conservative businesses are seeking transformation, as they simply cannot survive without it, often presenting a significant challenge for successors.

Even the Lafond Group’s successor, while considered highly capable, still experienced losses.

In business, no one can guarantee consistent profits; losses are inevitable. Just keep a normal attitude and find solutions when difficulties arise.

The elevator reached the top floor, and Maddox emerged.

Donovan Lafond’s secretary saw him and greeted him respectfully.

“Is your President Lan here?”

“Yes, he’s waiting for President Yorkg.”

The secretary led Maddox to the door of the president’s office, knocked on the door for Maddox, and after getting Donovan Lafond’s permission, he pushed the door open with Maddox.

After pouring water for Maddox, the secretary came out of the president’s office.

“You are ten minutes late.”

Donovan Lafond raised his left hand, on which he wore a watch.

Maddox picked up the glass of water, took a few sips, put down the glass, and replied: “I met your future brother-in-law. He saw me as a rival in love and stopped me, so I was ten minutes late.
