Married at First Sight

Chapter 4751

As Sonny grew older, he realized he would be with a brother and sister for life. Both his mother and Uncle Duncan said they wouldn’t have any more children. He was grateful his mother was the head of the Farrel family, otherwise she might not have given him a sister.

“Big brother,”

Belle said to the younger sister, pointing at Sonny in the river.

Serenity walked over to look at the two little girls and said with a smile, “As soon as your brother got here, he slipped into the river to catch fish.”

“Juniper Farrell, Belle, you two are fishing too. Did you catch anything?”

Juniper Farrell picked up her bucket and showed it to Serenity. “Auntie, I caught two fish.”

“Belle caught two too.”

Belle imitated her sister and picked up the bucket to show her mother the fish inside.

“Yeah, good, good. Keep catching! We caught some fish and can grill them tonight,”

Serenity said with a smile. “Whether Mommy can have grilled fish depends on our Belle.”

Belle’s eyes twinkled as she said, “Catch fish, catch fish.”

“For Mommy,”

Serenity smiled, bending down to touch her daughter’s head. “Okay.”

She watched the two little girls scoop up some fish before walking away to check on her son.

York Maverick and the other older children weren’t fishing; they were swimming in the deeper waters of the river.

“Baby,”

Serenity called out. “Don’t play too long. Get up and change after half an hour.”

The children’s skin was wrinkled from playing so long.

York Maverick replied, “Mom, I know. I caught a lot of fish, more than a dozen.”

He stood up, the water reaching his waist.

As if to claim credit, he walked to the shore, took out his bucket, and showed Serenity his accomplishments.Serenity looked into his bucket and saw a dozen small fish, the largest no bigger than a child’s pinky finger.

“If you grill them, they’ll only make a bunch.”

York Maverick said, “…Apart from Brother Titus and Brother Avah, I’ve caught the most.”

His mother actually said that if they grilled them, they would only make a bunch.

He’d been catching fish for ages, only to find a dozen.

It wasn’t even enough for her to fill her stomach.

Serenity smiled and said, “Just kidding. I won’t grill your fish for you. Take them back to the farm and find something to feed them yourself.”

It was just that they were difficult to feed and could easily die.

She didn’t care if the children could keep them alive. As the old lady said, it was just to give them a different kind of fun.

When she was little, she’d raised fish too.

She’d go to the fields with her mother, catching small fish from the ditches and bringing them home, but they often died.

Her parents never stopped her

from raising fish. They even let her raise tadpoles, letting her observe how they transformed into frogs. She missed her parents so much.

She was in her thirties now, and her parents had been gone for over twenty years.

“Mom, Mom,”

York Maverick called out repeatedly.

His mother was distracted.

Serenity pulled her thoughts back to her son’s face. She smiled and said, “Go play, but don’t play too long. When you get up, change into clean clothes quickly to avoid catching a cold.”

“It’s the weekend in two days, and Daddy’s off. I’m going to take you all to our sea view villa for a couple of days and go fishing.”

It wasn’t York Maverick’s first time at the beach, but he still loved going there and fishing.
