On the way back, River York stuffed his suitcase with gifts for the Lafond family elders.
“Did you know my parents are back from their trip?”
River York laughed. “Didn’t you tell me? You said they were back, and they’ve been back for a few days.”
Romina chuckled. “I really forgot.”
With River York by her side, Romina felt less lonely on the taxi ride home from the airport.
She hadn’t told the family driver to pick her up. They
took a taxi back .
The taxi dropped them off at the entrance of the Lafond family villa and stopped.
River York paid the fare and quickly got out to help Romina with her suitcases.
He was pulling both suitcases by himself. Romina wanted to pull her own, but he wouldn’t let her.
“From now on, when you’re with me, I’ll do all the heavy lifting.”

The housekeeper smiled, “I saw that Madam cooked all the dishes the eldest daughter would love. They’re definitely for her.”
River York smiled back, “Then I’m in luck.”
The Lafond family elders completely approved of him, treating him like a future son-in-law.
In the eyes of the Lafond family, River York had accompanied Romina on her business trip to Annenburg, a ten-day stay. During those ten days, the two of them shared meals and lodgings, albeit in a hotel, not the same room.
But they considered this to be living together, practically the same as living together.
