Married at First Sight

Chapter 4854

“Come on, I’ll show you my house,”

Marry Lord said to Alex York.

“My house is just simply renovated, it can’t compare to yours.”

Without asking, she could guess that the money Alex York spent on renovations could have bought her house, maybe even more.

A young master from a wealthy family, he’s not short of money.

Alex York smiled and agreed.

He followed her out and locked the door.

They went up and down the stairs, skipping the elevator.

Marry Lord said, “Our floors have six units each, and my house is the largest. There are only two units of the same size per floor, and the other four are smaller.”

“Everyone on my floor has moved in. I’m the only one who doesn’t need a place to live. I haven’t really moved in yet, I just come over occasionally.”

Many of the other residents were migrant workers who came to Wiltspoon to work. To make it easier for their children to go to school, they bought houses there. Years of savings from working only contributed to the down payment, and some even had to ask their elderly family members for permission.

Residents like Marry Lord are relatively rare, able to buy and renovate their homes in full without borrowing.

Marry Lord is incredibly grateful to her parents for treating her equally and not refusing to buy her a house

simply because she’s a daughter. Her brothers’ houses aren’t in the best locations, and

they bought her a house in Wansheng Garden because it’s close to their old house. If she gets married and her in-laws bully her, she can just shout and her family will be there in no time.

Her cousins, who owned properties, all bought properties close to the old house. Her aunts and uncles shared the same sentiment as her parents.

While a house for a son could be farther away, a house for a daughter needed to be close to home, providing her with support.

Marry Lord opened the door and led Alex York inside.

She’d suggested a simple renovation, but it was actually quite good. After all, she’d chosen environmentally friendly materials, which aren’t cheap.

The house was just over 100 square meters, with four bedrooms, two living rooms, and two bathrooms. The master bedroom was the largest, and the second bedroom was the second. The guest room was spacious for a small house, at least enough for a 5-foot-tall bed, a wardrobe, and a desk.

The furniture wasn’t extensive, but the basics were there.

There was a large balcony, where Marry Lord had placed several potted flowers, which were growing vigorously, and a hanging chair.

Alex York walked over and sat on the hanging chair, gazing out at the street outside. The breeze was quite comfortable.

“This hanging chair was given to me by the furniture store owner when I bought the furniture. I bought a lot of furniture from them at once before they agreed to give me one. I’ve wanted one for a long time.”

“I think it’s so comfortable to sit in it and read a book in my spare time. I’m thinking of having a custom-made sun-shaded bookshelf against the wall on the balcony.”

Alex York smiled, “That’s great.”

She likes hanging chairs, or rather, she likes swings.

He wants to buy a swing chair for his family, too, a double one. When he succeeds in pursuing his wife, they can spend their free time together on the swing chair.

The thought is so sweet.
