Married at First Sight
Chapter 5069
Alex York trusted his own judgment, and also the judgment of his elders.
A girl he liked, and whose charm his elders also liked at first sight, couldn’t be too bad.
“I’ve made up my mind about Marry. Marry will definitely be my wife. I will cherish her, love her, and pamper her for the rest of my life,”
Alex York said. “I’m not saying these things to deceive Dr. Joans, nor am I trying to get her to drop the competition. This is my honest opinion, and I will keep my word. I’m telling Dr. Joans this so she can completely give up on this idea.”
“Don’t bother Marry anymore, lest you upset her. I want her to be happy,”
Dr. Joans said, looking at him. He looked at Dr. Joans in return.
The two stared at each other for a long time. Dr. Joans lowered his head first, sipping his coffee. He said, “Even if I hadn’t withdrawn, I would still be the loser. Actually, I was indeed two-timing, wanting Marry while not rejecting Flower.”
“And while pursuing Marry, I was enjoying Flower’s meticulous care for me.”
“I lost. I didn’t give Marry my whole heart.”
“Marry rejected me, and I accept it.”
“Mr. York, I wish you and Marry a long and happy life together.”
Alex York said, “Thank you. Marry and I will definitely grow old together and be happy.”
He also drank half a glass of juice, then put down his glass and said to Dr. Joans, “Dr. Joans called me here just to say this, right? Is there anything else? If not, I’ll be leaving.”
“I’ve said everything I wanted to say. Mr. York, please make yourself at home.”
Dr. Joans didn’t even look at Alex York anymore; he was the loser.
Alex York was the winner.
One more glance and he’d be driven mad with jealousy.
Why didn’t he have Alex York’s family background, or Alex York’s enlightened parents?
Alex York got up and left.
Dr. Joans silently drank his coffee, finishing it quickly.
After sitting quietly for a while, he got up to pay the bill. Leaving the coffee shop, he didn’t go home immediately but drove to a bar, ordered several bottles of alcohol, and drank alone in silence.
Letting Marry and Alex York be together was just a way for him to save face.
He knew very well that even if he hadn’t let them be together, he wouldn’t have Marry.
But even though he had, he hadn’t truly let go; his heart still ached, and he felt terrible.
Feeling down, he drowned his sorrows in alcohol.
Regardless of his rival, Alex York didn’t go home immediately after leaving but returned to the Lord family clinic.
Marry Lord was still chatting with her second uncle and aunt downstairs, perhaps waiting for Alex York to return.
For some reason, Marry Lord always felt that Alex York would come back, would come back to tell her what Senior Joans wanted from him.
Hearing the sound of a car outside, Marry Lord instinctively looked towards the clinic entrance and saw Alex York getting out of the car. She got up and went outside.
“Alex York, you’re back. Did Senior Joans give you any trouble?”
