Married at First Sight
Chapter 5080
Flower Morgan didn’t say anything. The two of them helped Dr. Joans into his room and helped him lie down. Flower Morgan then sat on the bed, panting.
It had taken her a lot of effort to help Dr. Joans take the elevator upstairs by herself.
Joans’s mother felt sorry for her son and called him several times, but he wouldn’t wake up. She said to Flower Morgan with some concern, “Flower Morgan, Joans drank so much, won’t he get alcohol poisoning?”
“Auntie, don’t worry, this isn’t the first time Dr. Joans has done this. It’ll be fine. Let him sleep until he wakes up naturally tomorrow.”
She paused, then added, “At most, he might have a headache when he wakes up. Auntie will make him a cup of honey water.”
“Do you have any honey water for Joans?”
“Yes, I had my mom buy some local honey and send two jin to Dr. Joans. Last time he got drunk, I made him a cup of honey water, and it made him feel much better.”
“Flower Morgan, it’s a good thing you’re here, otherwise Joans would have no one to take care of him. That Dr. Lord doesn’t even acknowledge him.”
Flower Morgan paused for a moment, then said, “Auntie, I love Dr. Joans, so I care about him, I’m concerned about him, and I’m willing to take care of him.”
“Dr. Lord has no romantic feelings for Dr. Joans. They’re just senior and junior classmates. Without love, of course Dr. Lord wouldn’t care about Dr. Joans, let alone come to take care of him when he’s drunk.”
At this hour, Dr. Lord is probably fast asleep, having sweet dreams. Why would she care if Dr. Joans is drunk?
Joans’s mother said, “Yes, Dr. Lord doesn’t love our Joans at all, but Joans… Flower Morgan, we’ve all seen how good you are to Joans. In my and his father’s eyes, you’re our future daughter-in-law.”
“Don’t worry, if Joans dares not to marry you, dares to treat you badly, we’ll teach him a lesson.”
Flower Morgan smiled. “Thank you, Auntie.”
“Auntie, it’s late. I’ll go home first. If Dr. Joans can’t get up tomorrow morning, don’t wake him. Let him sleep well. We’ll look after the clinic, so don’t worry.”
She studied medical theory. Although she’s just a nurse, she’s worked at the Joans family clinic for so many years. Dr. Joans isn’t completely indifferent to her; he’s taught her some things. Usually, when Dr. Joans isn’t at the clinic, there are patients…She would also practice medicine, treating patients without ever making a mistake. As long as she diagnosed the illness correctly and prescribed the right medicine, the patients would recover quickly.
“It’s so late. It’s not safe for a girl like you to go home alone. Why don’t you stay here for the night?”
Joans’s mother said, trying to persuade her son. “Joans has a room here.”
Dr. Joans’s house had four bedrooms and two living rooms. He had one room for himself, one room was used as a study, and there were two guest rooms where his parents would stay. The
other guest room was empty.
Flower Morgan pretended to hesitate and said, “That’s not a good idea. If people find out I’m staying at Dr. Joans’s place, they’ll gossip.”
“Who cares what others say? You and Joans will get married sooner or later, and this will be your home. You’re just staying in your own home for one night in advance. What’s the big deal?”
Her son was so drunk that there was nothing she could do.
Even if Flower Morgan stayed overnight, the two of them would be completely innocent.
“Flower Morgan, stay. If anything happens to you on your way back, I’ll feel guilty for the rest of my life. Joans will blame me if he wakes up and finds out,”
Joans’s mother urged Flower Morgan to stay.
One reason was that she was worried about Flower Morgan’s safety going home alone, and another was that she was concerned her son might vomit later. She couldn’t take care of him alone; after all, she was getting old and didn’t have the strength.
The old man was sleeping soundly, and she couldn’t wake him.
It was better to have Flower Morgan stay; if anything happened to her son, at least someone would help.
At Joans’s mother’s urging, Flower Morgan stayed.
