“She actually went to your company and made a scene. We had the security guards kick her out! I told you Joans’s mom was someone you couldn’t mess with, and she’s incredibly selfish,”
Alex York said angrily. “She even went to your hospital to yell at you and demand you move out? How dare she? Who gave her that audacity?”
“It’s Sunday today, our company is closed. After the security guard told her, she left.”
“I knew she was unreasonable, but I didn’t expect her to be so utterly unreasonable after she stopped pretending. Let’s talk when we meet. Wait for me at the hospital entrance, or at my clinic?”
Marry Lord said this to agree to have lunch together. They then exchanged complaints about
Joans’s mom.
“I’ll come pick you up.”
“Okay.”
“That’s all for now, we’ll talk later. I have two patients.”

Alex York ended the call. Still angry, he called Dr. Joans.
Dr. Joans had just woken up with a terrible headache, but habitually picked up his phone and saw several missed calls, all from Marry Lord.
Thinking Marry Lord was concerned about him, Dr. Joans immediately sat up, ignoring his headache, and called Marry Lord back right away.
Marry Lord answered the phone after a while.
“Senior Joans, you’re awake.”
“Just woke up, Marry Lord. I’m sorry, I drank a little last night and only woke up now. I didn’t answer your call this morning.””What’s wrong? Is something the matter?”
Marry Lord took a few deep breaths and said, “Senior Joans, I’ve told you long ago, we’re not suitable. Cherish the person in front of you, stop pursuing me, and stop drinking so much.”
“Drinking too much is bad for your health. Your mother is worried about you and blames me for making you drunk and harming your body. She came to my clinic early this morning, slammed her hand on my desk in front of so many people, and yelled at me.”
“She even told me to move far away, preferably never to see you again, and that I either have to move away from you or accept your feelings.”

Dr. Joans was stunned.

“Marry Lord, I’m sorry, I apologize to you on behalf of my mother. Don’t take anything she said to heart.”
Dr. Joans quickly apologized to Marry Lord.
He hadn’t expected his mother to go and criticize Marry Lord.
“Senior Joans, you should explain things clearly to your family. I don’t want something like this to happen again.”
“You also need to handle your matter with Miss He. Don’t let your mother blame me again. We really have nothing to do with each other, and please don’t come looking for me again. We can’t be together!”
She didn’t love Dr. Joans, no matter what he did, she didn’t love him.
Dr. Joans’s head throbbed even more, and his face burned with shame for his mother’s unreasonable behavior.
