Married at First Sight
Chapter 5086
“Marry Lord, I’m so sorry. I didn’t expect my mom to cause you trouble. I apologize again on her behalf. I’m really sorry,”
Marry Lord said. “I can forgive and forget what happened today, but this shouldn’t happen again. Senior Joans, please explain things clearly to your mom.”
“Senior Joans, try to drink less at bars in the future, lest you get drunk and your mom blames me again and causes me trouble,”
Dr. Joans said, his face flushed red. After apologizing, he repeatedly promised that it would never happen again.
He didn’t know how to continue talking to Marry Lord and hurriedly hung up the phone.
As soon as he hung up, he immediately left the room.
“Land Joans, you’re awake. Are you feeling unwell? Are you hungry? Dinner’s ready soon. Mom bought a lot of groceries today, and I’ll cook it all. You didn’t go back to the clinic, so I asked Flower Morgan to open the door and keep an eye on things. We can’t just leave it closed.”
“Does your head hurt? Mom’ll make you some honey water; it’ll make you feel better. Flower Morgan said so. Land Joans, Flower Morgan is so good to you. She picked you up from the bar and took care of you.”
“Before she left, she told me to make you some honey water, saying it would make you feel much better after you’ve had your fill of alcohol.”
Joans’s mother spoke a string of concerned words as she saw her son.
Looking at his mother’s concerned expression, half of Dr. Joans’s anger subsided.
He knew his mother’s actions towards Marry Lord stemmed from her heartache for him.
She felt sorry for him, that he couldn’t have her and could only drown his sorrows in alcohol, getting completely drunk.
But this was his own behavior, and had nothing to do with Marry Lord.
“Land Joans looks terrible. Are you feeling unwell?”
Mr. Joans noticed something was wrong with his son and came over, instinctively reaching out to touch his forehead.
“Dad, I’m fine, just a slight headache,”
Mrs. Joans said, also touching her son’s forehead to make sure he didn’t have a fever. Hearing him say his head hurt a little, she immediately went back to the kitchen, found the honey Flower Morgan had brought, and made him a cup of honey water.
“The honey water’s ready, drink it first, then we can eat. I told you to drink, drinking is bad for your health and stomach, and you drank so much, who can you blame for this headache?”
Mrs. Joans grumbled.
Dr. Joans took the cup of honey water his mother had made, drank half of it, then sat down at the table, put down the cup, and said to his parents, “Mom and Dad, don’t rush to eat, sit down, I have something I want to talk to you about.”
The couple exchanged glances.
Mrs. Joans was clearly a little guilty.
Mr. Joans sat down naturally; he had no idea his wife had gone to the hospital to cause trouble for Marry Lord early that morning.
When he woke up, his wife wasn’t beside him, and he assumed she had gone to the clinic to help out.
Later, his wife returned with the groceries she had bought, and he assumed she had gone to buy groceries again.
“Land Joans, what do you want to say?”
Joans’s father asked affectionately.
