Married at First Sight

Chapter 5097

After calming her second uncle and aunt down, Marry went upstairs to rest for a while.

Twenty minutes before her shift started, Alex York came to pick her up.

A dozen minutes later, Marry Lord stepped out of the elevator and headed towards her office.

“Dr. Lord!”

the nurses called out in unison when they saw her.

Startled, Marry Lord instinctively went to the nurses’ station. Before they could speak, she asked, “Could it be that auntie again?”

“Yes, she is. Dr. Joans came with his parents. It seems they’re here to apologize to you. They brought quite a few gifts.”

“They’re waiting outside your office.”

Marry Lord breathed a sigh of relief. “I’m not worried since Senior Joans came along. It’s alright, you guys get back to work.”

She walked towards her office.

Large hospitals are crowded, and even in the afternoon, many patients were still waiting outside her office for her to arrive.

“Marry.”

Dr. Joans saw her, stood up, and called out to her.

He looked embarrassed, feeling guilty and somewhat ashamed to face her.

Mr. and Mrs. Joans also got up. Mr. Joanswas a little better off, but Mrs. Joanslooked incredibly embarrassed.

She felt so good about yelling at them that morning, and now she was as awkward as could be, wishing she could disappear into a hole.

From the moment she entered the hospital, Mrs. Joansfelt that everyone was looking at her unfriendly.

It was her way of knowing she was terribly wrong and feeling guilty.

The people who came to see the doctor in the morning and the people who came in the afternoon were not the same group, and they had no idea about her unreasonable behavior that morning.

Only the hospital staff recognized her. Seeing her arrive with so many gifts, they guessed she was there to apologize.

Their eyes held a hint of disdain.

In recent years, Joan’s mother had been pampered back home because of her successful son, who did well in the city and could help relatives and friends who needed medical treatment there.

This flattery had made her somewhat arrogant and concerned with her image.

If Dr. Joans hadn’t threatened her with her future, she wouldn’t have come to apologize.

“Dr. Lord, I’m sorry. I was rude and unreasonable this morning. I know I was wrong, and I sincerely apologize to you now,”

Joan’s mother said, forcing herself to apologize to Marry Lord for her son’s sake.

She tried her best to make her apology seem sincere.

“Dr. Lord, please accept my apology for the sake of A-Jian being your senior. Please be magnanimous and don’t hold it against me. I promise I won’t do it again.”

“I was only acting impulsively because I was worried about my son. Please have pity on me as a mother. I’m sorry, Dr. Lord, I sincerely apologize to you. I’m truly sorry.”

Joan’s mother quickly handed the gifts to Marry Lord. “Dr. Lord, this is a small token of our appreciation. Please accept it.”

Marry Lord gently pushed away the gifts offered by Joan’s mother.

“Auntie, I accept your apology. Take the gifts back; I don’t want them.”

She then said to Dr. Joans, “Senior Joans, please take your parents home. Let’s leave it at that.”

Dr. Joans said apologetically, “Marry, I’m truly sorry. I didn’t know my mother would do such a thing. I have already severely criticized her. My mother knows her mistake and promises not to do it again.”

“I accept Auntie’s apology.”

Their long-standing friendship also made Marry Lord give up on pursuing the matter further. She believed that Senior Joans had handled it properly and that such a thing would not happen again.
