It took two to tango.
Just because Jessica made worse mistakes, it did not mean Hank's own trashy behavior should be swept under the rug.
Hank had failed Liberty, Sonny, Jessica, and their unborn child. Liberty did not need anything from him, so he focused on making it up to Jessica. For years, Hank refused to divorce Jessica and waited for her release.
However, Chelsea resented Jessica, who nearly killed her. Hank felt bad enough to forgive Jessica, but Chelsea could not let the whole thing go.
It was always a glaring match between Chelsea and Jessica. Chelsea carried on speaking ill of Jessica in front of Olivia, Luke, and Hank.
However, Hank tuned her out.
All Jessica wanted was a quiet life. Sonny provided them monthly financial support out of respect for Hank. Still, Hank would continue to drive as a living, earning enough for them to live a good life.
Jessica was old with a criminal record, and her family went no contact with her. For that reason, she cherished the moments now, not letting what Chelsea said get to her.
With Chelsea trying to set Sonny up on dates and controlling his life, Jessica and Hank's quiet life was threatened. Jessica, already fed up with Chelsea, insisted on going along with Hank.
When Jessica and Hank arrived on the scene, Chelsea was at the security guards' throats. Chelsea felt the security guards had no right to stop her.
Jessica stepped out of the car and grabbed Chelsea's arm. Chelsea looked back at her.
Smack!
Jessica slapped Chelsea in the face.
As the burn on her cheek sank in, Chelsea could not believe Jessica, who had already been behind bars for assault, would hit her.
It was absolute madness.
To think Jessica would attack family.
Chelsea had been persuading Hank to dump Jessica. If Hank had filed for divorce years ago, he would have started a family of his own by now. Yet, Hank was stubborn in waiting for Jessica.
Having children was out of the question since Hank and Jessica were advanced in years. The Browns only had Sonny as the last heir.
"How dare you hit me, you vile woman!"
Before Chelsea could retaliate, Jessica clutched her wrist and dragged her away. Despite putting up a fight, Chelsea could not break free.
There was no telling what Jessica went through behind bars, but she gained a lot of strength upon her release.
“Hank, are you dead? Can't you see the vile woman assaulting me? I told you that you can't keep this woman around. Did you forget how she nearly killed you? If I weren't there to save you, you would've been dead.
“Hank, do you even have a soul to watch the woman attack me?
“Let me go! Ease on the grip! I can get in the car! Don't touch me, you vicious woman!"
It did not take Jessica much to stuff Chelsea into Hank's car. She slammed the door shut and warned Chelsea, "I'll hit you if you run your mouth outside Sonny's office again.
"Since you love running your mouth so much, I'll smack you until you shut up."
The menacing look on Jessica's face terrified Chelsea as she recalled what Jessica had done before. Jessica was psychotic enough to do just about anything.
