When Laurence got back to his residence, he saw a few new cars parked in the lot, bearing license plates he did not recognize.
He got out of his car and stood before the new vehicles.
"Sir."
One of the bodyguards he had left at home to keep watch over the place came over and greeted him respectfully, then explained, "These cars belong to Mr. York from Wiltspoon. He's visiting with his wife and is waiting inside for your return."
Laurence immediately smiled and said to Noelle, "Uncle Zack and Aunt Ser are here."
Noelle wondered, "Did Callie come with them?"
The bodyguard replied, “Ms. York did not come with them. Only Mr. York and his missus came."
Laurence said as he headed inside, “Isn't Callie working in FC & Co. now? How would she have time to visit? Unless Chloe asked her to come along."
Laurence was well aware of how strictly impartial Chloe was when it came to work.
Within the company, even he, as her older brother, had to abide by the rules and regulations she set.
As Chloe said, without rules, there would be no order.
The rules she had set were strict, but not inhumane. As long as they were conscientious about their work, they generally would not violate them.
"That's true." Noelle knew Chloe well too.
Everyone always said Noelle was stubborn, but actually, Chloe was just as bad.
The difference was that everyone was used to Chloe's stubbornness, so they did not think it was that bad.
Plus, they only commented on Noelle's own stubbornness because they wanted her to stop caring about the status gap and just get together with Laurence already.
The two entered the house.
They could hear conversation and laughter. They did not know what had been said, but everyone was laughing quite happily.
"Uncle Zack, Aunt Ser." Laurence greeted them with a smile. Noelle followed suit.
Serenity was still smiling when she saw the two of them walk in, and her smile grew brighter, feeling that the young couple looked really good together.
She had heard from Jane that Laurence had already confessed his feelings to Noelle.
It was not surprising since Jane had personally taken action along with Lilian's urging.
If Laurence had not finally confessed, Jane was ready to set Noelle up on blind dates, which would have driven Laurence crazy.
Laurence could cry a river if Noelle had taken a fancy to someone else.
Feeling a bit self-conscious under Serenity's gaze, Noelle asked, "Aunt Ser, is there something on my face? Why're you looking at me like that?"
"You're glowing, Noelle," Serenity said, smiling.
Then, she turned to Jane and said, "I don't know if it's because I haven't seen Noelle in a while, but I feel like she's prettier by the day."
Zachary glanced at Noelle, and gave a rare compliment. "She was already pretty in the first place and is outstanding in every aspect. She's not a single bit inferior to Laurence."
Serenity said, still smiling, "Noelle, did you hear what your Uncle Zachary said? He very rarely praises the kids, you know. He only praised you because you really are outstanding.
"He doesn't even praise his son."
Zachary rarely praised Heath, afraid that it would go to the child's head, but he often complimented Callia, for his daughter would then be full of confidence.
When it came to Callia, he was not afraid it would go to her head.
"Come sit, Laurence, Noelle. You don't have to keep standing."
