Steven's face flushed red. He pointed at Maddie, struggling to find the words. "How am I meddling? I'm just doing this for Everly's good. You hardly ever go out, so you don't know many people. Everly is never going to get married if you want to pick out her husband by yourself.
“Just let her start dating. She's so busy with work that she barely has time to think about anything else. We elders have to put some thought into it for her. For the sake of her marriage, I went around making connections everywhere. Whenever I hear that someone's family has a young man, I swallow my pride and ask around.
"Do you think that's easy for me? I didn't introduce thugs to Everly. Even if those young men I've introduced aren't as outstanding as the distinguished guest from her company, they're not bad either.
"What does your husband's family have other than money? They've always been short on descendants. Everly has no siblings. If you don't find a family with plenty of sons, who would be willing to be a househusband in the Flemming household?
