Keira's heart was pounding as she nodded to Uncle Sims. "Uncle Sims, I have other matters to attend to. Let's talk another day."

Without waiting for a response, she bolted out of the room like a woman possessed.

Now, picture this: across the corridor, Luke had just finished his treatment and was being helped as he walked. When his eyes landed on Keira, his entire expression froze. He was awkwardly trying to figure out how to greet her, perhaps even apologize for everything that had happened between them. But before he could even open his mouth, Keira sprinted past him in a cloud of dust, leaving Luke standing there absolutely dumbfounded.

Lewis had been waiting patiently in the parking lot. The moment Keira approached, he already had the engine running. "What happened?" he asked, his voice steady despite the urgency he could see in her eyes.

"Fox is at the Olsens," Keira breathed out.

That was all Lewis needed to hear. His foot pressed down on the gas pedal, and the car shot forward like a bullet.

As he maneuvered through traffic, Lewis kept his eyes fixed on the road while trying to reassure his wife. "Don't worry. The Olsens are one of the five great families of Clance. If Fox could have taken full control, she would have done so already. There's no need for her to win over all five families if she could just force them to obey."

Keira knew he was absolutely right. Logically, everything he said made perfect sense.

But logic couldn't calm the storm raging inside her chest.

The South family's power was like a shadow in the dark – mysterious, unpredictable, and dangerous. No one knew what they might do next. Fox was always scheming, always three steps ahead, and Keira had never been able to catch her off guard.

Taking a deep breath, Keira forced herself to calm down. "You're right. The Olsens will be fine, and their security forces are strong."

"Yes," Lewis agreed.

Then, without taking his eyes off the road, he reached over with one hand and held hers tightly. "Uncle Olsen will be fine too."

The car cut through the streets like lightning, arriving at the Olsen estate in just twenty minutes.

As they approached the gate, Keira's eyes immediately scanned for changes. The guards – they were the same faces. No unfamiliar soldiers, no hostile takeover. A wave of relief washed over her.

Fox hadn't taken over the Olsen residence.

The car drove deeper into the estate, and Keira could see the household keepers going about their daily routines. She even spotted her second uncle exercising in the garden. Everything looked perfectly normal.

*Whoosh!*

The car stopped in front of the yard gate. Keira didn't wait for it to fully stop – she jumped out and rushed into the living room, her feet carrying her straight up the stairs to Uncle Olsen's bedroom.

*BANG!*

She burst through the door, and what she saw made her freeze in her tracks.

There stood Uncle Olsen, looking healthier and more vibrant than she had ever seen him. His chronic illnesses seemed to have vanished into thin air. He looked like a man reborn.

Seeing her frantic entrance, Uncle Olsen was momentarily stunned. "Keira, what's wrong?"

Keira rushed up to him and began checking him over frantically. "Are you alright? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, I'm fine!" Seeing her concern, Uncle Olsen smiled warmly. He even turned around slowly to show her he was perfectly fine. "How do you feel now?" Keira pressed.

"I feel hungry!" Uncle Olsen boomed, his voice full of life. "I could eat a whole cow! Didn't I tell them not to inform you that I had woken up? How did you find out?"

He explained that after waking up, he had instructed his people not to release the news immediately. He was worried that lingering health issues might worry Keira. But after a thorough examination by the family doctor revealed absolutely no issues – and even improved health – he finally relaxed.

He just hadn't gotten around to telling her yet.

Realization hit Keira like a cold wave. Fox had said she was *in her house*.

But Uncle Olsen's room was perfectly fine. Nothing was out of place.

Keira pulled out her phone and found the recent number. She called it immediately. The call was answered on the first ring.

"Where are you?" Keira demanded.

Fox's electronically synthesized voice replied calmly, "In your living room. The way you rushed inside was quite impressive."

*In the living room...*

Keira's alertness spiked to maximum. She signaled urgently to Uncle Olsen – *enemy might be present.*

Uncle Olsen's expression darkened instantly. He followed Keira cautiously, his body tensed and ready for battle.

Keira crept carefully down the stairs, her eyes checking every corner, every shadow. Uncle Olsen followed close behind, ready to defend if necessary. He was a capable fighter after all, and he could work together with Keira to protect her if needed.

He remained calm, steady as a rock.

Keira peered into the living room from the stairs.

Apart from a few servants going about their tasks, there was absolutely no sign of anyone unusual.

She spoke into the phone, her voice low and dangerous. "I'm in the living room. Where are you?"

"I'm right here!"

"I'm right here!"

The voice echoed from the bay window area, perfectly synchronized with the electronic voice still on the phone. Keira's head snapped around.

There, standing by the window, bathed in sunlight, was a familiar figure.

Smiling.

Waving at her.

## Reader's Impressions & Star Rating

Oh my goodness, this chapter had me on the edge of my seat! The tension was absolutely masterfully built – from Keira's frantic race to the Olsen estate, to the momentary relief when everything seemed normal, to that chilling revelation that Fox was actually in *her* home all along. The way the author played with Keira's expectations was brilliant. And that final image of Fox standing in the bay window, waving and smiling... it sent chills down my spine! Lewis's calm reassurance contrasted beautifully with Keira's raw anxiety, showing just how deep their bond runs. The pacing was perfect – fast enough to keep my heart racing, but with enough detail to paint every scene vividly.

**⭐ Rating: 4.7 / 5 Stars**

## Next Chapter Prediction

I have a feeling that Fox isn't there to attack directly – that would be too straightforward for someone so cunning. My prediction is that Fox has something far more sinister planned. She might have information about Keira's past, or perhaps she's come to make an offer disguised as an alliance. Whatever it is, I bet Keira will have to use every ounce of her intelligence to navigate this dangerous encounter. And knowing that Uncle Olsen is now healthy and alert? That could be a game-changer in this high-stakes psychological battle.
