Keith spotted Autumn immediately. His long, determined strides carried him straight to her side. "Let's go," he said simply, his voice leaving no room for argument.
Autumn blinked in confusion. Go where? Her feverish mind struggled to process his sudden appearance.
Keith clarified, his tone gentle but firm, "I'm taking you back to your room."
Just then, a violent wave of nausea slammed into her. Acid burned its way up her throat. She clutched her mouth, gagging helplessly.
Keith was beside her in an instant. Without hesitation, he began patting her back with a tenderness that seemed almost foreign to his usually cold demeanor. He waited patiently until the feeling subsided, then carefully guided her back to her room.
But as soon as they crossed the threshold, Autumn's world spiraled. Her head spun wildly, and her stomach lurched with an unstoppable force. She couldn't hold it back—she threw up. And to her absolute horror, she threw up *on Keith*.
Panic surged through her. As far as she knew, Keith was a clean freak. A man who couldn't stand even a speck of dust. And she had just vomited all over him.
Her head was foggy, her fever clearly spiking again. She grabbed a tissue from the nightstand, her hands trembling as she tried to clean him up. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to. Let me wipe it off," she babbled, her voice shaky with embarrassment.
Keith's eyes locked onto her. Instinctively, he caught her hand, stopping her frantic movements. "Don't move," he ordered softly.
The moment his fingers touched hers, he felt the scorching heat radiating from her skin. His palm flew to her forehead, checking her temperature. Without a single word, he bent down, scooped her into his strong arms, and gently laid her on the bed.
As he tucked her in, their faces were so close she could hear his steady breathing mixing with the frantic pounding of her own heartbeat. Autumn could clearly feel the strong, rhythmic thump of his heart against her chest.
Her face burned even hotter, but this time it wasn't from the fever.
That was when the door creaked open.
Jesse walked in, and his timing couldn't have been worse. He caught them—practically pressed together in an intimate, tender pose. The sound startled them both. Keith let out a light cough and quickly straightened up, as if caught doing something forbidden.
Jesse's face flushed awkwardly. "Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt," he stammered, setting the oatmeal on the bedside table. Then, like a man running from a fire, he turned on his heel and darted out of the room as if being chased.
The air in the room grew thick with unspoken tension. Keith helped Autumn sit up, then picked up the food container and blew gently on the steam rising from the porridge. His focus was entirely on the simple act, but Autumn couldn't stand the care.
"I can feed myself," she mumbled, rubbing her aching head and squinting against the light.
Keith's gaze stayed heavy on her. He said nothing, but the intensity of his silence made her feel oddly cornered. Reluctantly, she opened her mouth.
She managed only a few bites before shaking her head. "I can't eat anymore."
Keith looked down at the nearly untouched bowl of oatmeal, his brow creasing with concern. "You've only had a few bites and already can't eat anymore? Do you always eat this little?"
She was like a kitten, eating just enough to survive. She really didn't take care of herself.
"It's not always like this. I'm just sick right now, so I don't have much of an appetite," Autumn explained weakly.
But the truth was far crueler. This had been going on for a long time. She ate very little, rarely felt hungry even at mealtimes. She had simply gotten used to the gnawing emptiness. But she couldn't tell him that. It would only make him worry, and that was the last thing she wanted.
Her acid reflux earlier was probably because she hadn't eaten since last night. Even when she tried, she couldn't force much down. And now, with her fever flaring again, her appetite had completely abandoned her.
Keith didn't push the subject. Instead, he got up, poured a large glass of warm water, retrieved some fever medicine from the table, and handed both to her.
Autumn took the water and pills, swallowed them quickly, and passed the glass back to him. Then she slid down into the bed, lying back and closing her eyes in exhaustion.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the hospital, Sienna stepped out of Grace's room. Just as she was about to walk away, a familiar scene caught her eye. A man was helping Autumn down the hallway. She froze, her eyes widening as she stared until their figures disappeared from view.
Only then did she snap out of her dazed state. A sly smile spread across her face as she quickly turned back into Grace's room. She walked over to her mother's bedside, leaned in close, and lowered her voice with barely concealed excitement.
"Mom, guess who I just saw outside?"

**Reader's Impressions & Star Rating:**
Oh my goodness, what a chapter! My heart was racing the entire time. Keith's unexpected tenderness when Autumn got sick was absolutely swoon-worthy. The way he patted her back, carried her to bed, and even blew on her porridge—this is a side of him we rarely see! And poor Autumn, so embarrassed about throwing up on him, but all he cared about was her fever. Their nearness in that moment felt so intimate, only to be interrupted by Jesse! That was both hilarious and frustrating. And now Sienna has seen them together—trouble is definitely brewing!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 4.6 / 5 Stars
**Next Chapter Prediction:**
I can already feel the storm coming! Sienna is going to report everything to Grace, and you know she'll twist the story to make Autumn look like a schemer. Will Grace confront Keith? Or will she use this as ammunition to separate them further? And with Autumn still sick, this could get messy fast. I have a feeling Keith's protective instincts are about to clash head-on with his mother's schemes!
