# Chapter 57: The Poison of Suspicion
Hello everyone, it's me again! How are you all doing? Today I will continue to walk with you and review Chapter 57 of "REMARRIED AFTER I SECRETLY DIVORCED THE CEO" — a chapter that drips with jealousy, manipulation, and the slow poison of suspicion spreading through the Carter household.
Grace stared at her daughter Sienna, who was practically vibrating with indignation. The older woman let out a weary sigh. "Who could you have possibly seen? You act like you ran into royalty."
She knew her daughter's flair for theatrics all too well. Sienna had always been a drama queen, blowing things out of proportion for attention. But this time, the look in Sienna's eyes was different — sharper, more vindictive.
"It was Autumn," Sienna said, pressing her lips together in annoyance. "I just saw her walking from the restroom with some guy helping her. Mom, don't you think her sudden change in attitude toward us might mean she's fallen out of love with Julian?"
She paused, letting the implication hang in the air like a knife. Then she twisted it deeper. "I only caught a glimpse of that man, but he seemed pretty attentive. I bet they've known each other for a while. Autumn's an orphan. She doesn't have a family. That guy couldn't be a relative. What if he's the guy she's cheating with?"
Sienna's tone carried a mixture of disgust and satisfaction. Yes, she'd always looked down on Autumn, wanting her gone so Julian could marry Luna Taylor instead. But even she felt a righteous fury at the thought of Autumn cheating. In her mind, a married woman stepping out was unforgivable — shameless, worthy of public humiliation.
Grace shot upright in bed, rage instantly burning in her chest. "You're saying you saw Autumn being helped by another man?"
"Yep," Sienna confirmed with a firm nod.
Grace clutched at her chest, her breath coming faster. "Did her legs stop working? Why the hell does she need someone to hold her up?"
Her mind raced. Autumn used to be a doormat, catering to the Carter family's every whim. But ever since the cancer diagnosis, she'd transformed into someone hard, defiant. She'd slapped Sienna yesterday in public. She'd stopped caring about what the Carters thought. Grace had chalked it up to desperation — acting out in the face of death.
But now she saw it differently.
Someone else had stepped in to pick up the pieces. No wonder Autumn was in such a rush to get divorced. The thought of Autumn walking away with six million dollars of her money — money that should have stayed in the Carter family — and using it to pamper some young lover made Grace's blood boil. What kind of decent man would go for a divorced, terminally ill woman? Autumn was spending her son's money on another man. How calculated. How manipulative.
The more Grace thought about it, the angrier she became.
Sienna added fuel to the fire. "She's clearly faking it, acting all weak to win some man's sympathy. Isn't that how she had Julian wrapped around her little finger back then?"
Grace reached under her pillow and pulled out her phone, her fingers trembling with fury as she dialed Julian's number. Seeing her mother call her brother lifted Sienna's mood. Autumn had dared to slap her, and now she'd handed them ammunition they could use.
The phone rang several times before Julian finally answered.
Grace launched into a furious retelling of everything that had just happened, her voice rising with each accusation. By the end, she deliberately twisted the knife. "Julian, a while back Autumn took six million dollars from me. You've got to find a way to get it back for me. I even have the transfer receipt to prove I gave it to her. She told me she wanted to buy a gift for you — that's the only reason I sent her the money. If I'd known what kind of woman she really was, I would've never given her a dime. You have to do something and get it back for me!"
There was a brief pause on the other end before Julian responded in a flat voice, "Got it."
Grace hung up with a cold, mocking smile. That contract had been torn up, and there was no way her son would believe anything Autumn said now. If Autumn thought she could walk away with her money and go spoil some other man, she was dead wrong.
But Grace didn't know that the man Sienna saw was none other than Julian himself. The very man she was trying to turn against Autumn had been the one holding her up. And fate was about to deliver a cruel twist that none of them saw coming.

**Reader's Impressions & Star Rating:** This chapter brilliantly captures the ugliness of jealousy and the danger of assumptions. Grace and Sienna's swift descent into vindictive suspicion feels all too real, and the dramatic irony — readers knowing the man was Julian while the Carters don't — makes the tension almost unbearable. The writing is tight and emotionally charged. I give this chapter a solid ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 4.8 / 5 Stars.
**Next Chapter Prediction:** Julian knows the truth — that he was the one helping Autumn. But will he reveal that to his mother and sister, or will he use their false accusations as a way to deepen his conflict with them? I predict Julian will play along, pretending to believe their lies, but secretly shifting his loyalty toward Autumn. Meanwhile, Grace's demand for the six million dollars back will force Autumn into an impossible position — and expose the cracks in Julian's cold-hearted facade.
