"It's nothing major. I just wanted to ask what exactly you did to me the other day, and why I've been in agonizing pain ever since."

The pain during intimacy was excruciating, and his mistresses were starting to suspect he had a real medical issue.

They had even advised him to see a urologist.

His ego had taken a massive hit, and he had completely avoided his mistresses for the past few days.

When he went home, his wife thought he was finally going to perform his husbandly duties, but after a lot of fumbling, nothing happened.

His wife had been furious, cursing him out and accusing him of only coming home because he had been drained dry by some tramp.

Silas was burning with an anger he couldn't unleash.

And now, to top it all off, he had run into Claire again at the hospital.

"I didn't do anything. Are you sure you're not mistaken, Silas?"

Claire blinked, the picture of innocence.

"How could I be mistaken? What exactly is your relationship with Dane?"

"Is he your sugar daddy?"

"You really think being with him is better than being with me?"

"He just has money, but what I can give you..."

Before he could finish his vile sentence, Noah walked out of the nearby hospital

room.

At that exact moment, Tilda hurried down the hallway.

She had come to drop off lunch for Walden.

Seeing Claire cornered outside a patient's room, Tilda immediately assumed the man was up to no good.

"Claire!"

"Claire."

Tilda and Noah greeted her at almost the exact same time.

Claire gave Noah a polite nod before turning to Tilda.

"Tilda, are you here to bring Walden his lunch?"

"Yeah. What's going on here?" Tilda asked.

She glanced at the man standing opposite Claire and realized she recognized him.

"Well, if it isn't Silas."

"What are you doing here?"

"Oh, right. Harrison is admitted here, isn't he?"

"Harrison really has it rough. At his age, he still has to stress over a grown son like you."

"You didn't put him in the hospital this time, did you?"

Tilda's sharp tongue fired off like a machine gun, obliterating Silas on the spot.

She didn't even give him a chance to defend himself.

Silas recognized Tilda. Hearing how familiar she and Claire were, and hearing her mention Walden, he immediately knew she meant the patriarch of the Hawk family.

Instantly, Silas lost his nerve.

He wasn't afraid of offending rich people, but he was terrified of offending powerful

ones.

The Darwin family was already on the decline.

If he made the wrong enemies, he'd be chased right out of Cabinda.

More importantly, Tilda might be younger, but she was vicious.

She was in the media industry, and Silas couldn't afford to cross her.

He didn't want photos of his bedroom exploits plastered all over the tabloids the very next morning.

Tilda wouldn't even have to do the dirty work herself; she had plenty of people who would gladly do it for her.

And her fiancé—that absolute terror from the Hawk family was not someone to mess with.

Silas still had no idea who had matched those two up for marriage.

He forced an awkward laugh. "Of course not. It has nothing to do with me. It's my son..."

Mid-sentence, Silas realized he was slipping up.

"It has nothing to do with my son, either. It's just his failing health."

"Are you here to see Walden, Tilda?"

"You're far too devoted for a granddaughter-in-law who isn't even married yet."

"But take a piece of advice from me: trying too hard is a bad look."

"You and Van aren't even legally tied, yet here you are playing the dutiful servant for his family."

"He's just going to take advantage of you later."

"If you're smart, you'll listen to me and stop being so accommodating."

"In this day and age, a man should be putting in all the effort before the wedding otherwise you women are the ones who suffer after." .net>

The man certainly knew how to run his mouth.

Yet annoyingly, he actually made a little bit of sense.

If Tilda didn't already know this old

bastard was just trying to stir up drama, she might have actuall thanked him for the advice
