stared at my clothes floating in the pool.

Every dress, every pair of jeans every carefully packed outfit I had brought for the next few days drifted across the surface of the water like garbage.

Suitcases had been emptied and left open on the stone deck. Even the silk robe I had planned to sleep in was soaked.

stared for a long second, certain I was imagining it. This couldn’t be.”

Then I heard him.

Grayson stood a few feet away with his hands in his pockets, watching me with an unapologetic grin. The lights around the

ool caught the sharp lines of his face and the clear satisfaction in his eyes.

You have to be kidding me,” I said.

Payback,” he replied, completely unfazed. “You invited Chase to the wedding. I told you I don’t play nice when someone starts something. Consider us even.”

What on earth does this have to do with me inviting Chase to the wedding?

turned fully toward him, heat rising fast. “You think I invited him to get under your skin?”

Didn’t you?”

No. It had nothing to do with you.” I hissed. “You aren’t that important to me.”

Grayson’s grin only widened. “Sure it didn’t. Either way, your clothes looked like they needed a swim. Hope you find something dry to sleep in tonight.”

He turned and walked back toward the house like the conversation was over. Like he had won.

He wanted to play?

could play dirty. He was about to regret ever messing with me.

went upstairs without another word, locked myself in the large bathroom attached to the master bedroom, and took a ong shower.

washed off the entire day–the ceremony, seeing Chase, Sophie and Lily’s insults, the weight of a marriage neither of us vanted.

When I stepped out, I dried my hair just enough that it remained damp down my back, skipped every towel and robe, and >pened the bathroom door.

Grayson was already on the bed, scrolling through his phone in a black T–shirt and sweatpants. He glanced up casually.

Then he froze.

His eyes locked onto me and went wide. The phone nearly slipped out of his hand.

What the hell are you doing?” His voice came out rougher than usual.

walked further into the room like I had every right to be completely bare in front of him. “You got rid of all my clothes. Until have something to wear, I’ll be naked. Stop staring so much. It’s rude to stare at a naked woman.”

‘Blair-”

‘You threw everything I own in the pool.” I stopped at the edge of the bed. “That includes sleepwear. So this is what you get. And maybe, this is exactly what you wanted.”

His gaze dropped before he could stop it–over my shoulders, my breasts, the curve of my waist, lower, before he snapped his eyes back up like he’d been burned. A muscle jumped in his jaw.

‘Put something on.”

“I don’t have anything dry.”

Successfully unlocked!

“Then take one of my shirts. I have plenty. Just fuckiny yet some comes on. Please.”

Please? I almost burst out laughing. Even his ears seemed to be getting red.

“No“! pulled the covers back on my side of the massive bed and slid in, settling against the pillows completely uncovered

The cool air against my skin only made me more aware of how closely he was watching me. “You made this problem. You san deal with the consequences If you want this fixed, I’ll suggest you get a whole new wardrobe for me Designer items only.”

I hardly ever wore designer was only messing with him. Well, that was before Chase married someone else. Maybe change was a good thing.

Grayson stared at me like I had lost my mind. His throat worked as he swallowed. He was clearly trying to keep his eyes on my face and failing in small, telling ways.

Why did I suddenly feel hot all over? Like I wanted him to look at me?

“You’re doing this on purpose,” he said.

“Just like you threw my clothes in the pool on purpose.”

Silence stretched between us. He shifted against the headboard, and that was when I saw it.

The clear, hard line of a bulge beneath his sweatpants.

My stomach fluttered despite every effort to stay in control of the moment. He was affected. Badly. And he hated that he

was.

I let my eyes drop pointedly to his lap, then lifted them again with a slow, deliberate smile.

“Something wrong?” I asked.

Grayson’s expression darkened. He set his phone aside like it had offended him and dragged a hand over his mouth. “You’re playing a dangerous game,” he said, voice low.

“You started it.”

‘Blair.”

“Yes?”

He looked at me for a long moment, eyes burning with a mix of frustration, reluctance, and unmistakable heat. The tension

in the room had shifted into something that made the space between us feel smaller than it should have.

‘Cover yourself,” he said finally, though the order lacked real force.

I settled deeper into the pillows, completely unbothered. “Make me.”

His jaw clenched so hard I could see it from where I lay.

For a second I thought he might actually reach for me, whether to drag a blanket over my body or do something else. Instead he exhaled hard through his nose, turned onto his side with his back partially toward me, and muttered a rough curse under his breath.

The bulge in his pants didn’t disappear.

I stared at the ceiling, pulse wild, and realized with a mix of triumph and warning that pushing Grayson Shaw might be more dangerous, and more addictive, than I had planned.
