The dress was different this time.

Bigger. Heavier. Chosen because I wanted it, not because a publicist needed a picture.

The second wedding was larger than the first-more flowers, more family, more of a ceremony that felt like ours instead of a debt repayment.

I stood in the bridal suite and watched the garden from the window.

I was ready to marry Grayson again. More than ready. In fact, this day took too long to arrive.

I frowned when I heard shouting coming from outside. Today was supposed to be a peaceful day. Why was there shouting?

Then I looked out, especially since I recognized that voice.

Chase was on the path.

He was making a scene in a suit he should not have been wearing, acting like he was the groom.

Had he completely lost his mind? Why on earth would he be here right now?

Then came the begging.

“Blair! Please. I made a mistake. I cannot go another day without you. Take me back. I will leave my wife. I will

Olivia appeared at my shoulder and gasped. “Is he insane? What is his problem? He truly doesn’t know when to stop, does he?”

Ethan was already moving.

“Do not worry, dear sister,” he said, stripping off his jacket, acting dramatic. “I have this under control. I will use my fist to get rid of him rather quickly. He’s had this coming a long time now. I’m glad for the special opportunity.”

I pressed my hands to the window. “Ethan-”

He was outside before I finished my sentence.

Olivia rolled her eyes, “well this is surely going on the news tonight.”

Chase barely got another sentence out before Ethan hit him. The first punch snapped Chase’s head to the side. The second put him on the ground. Ethan hauled him up by the shirt and hit him again.

“Stay the fuck away from my sister.” He shouted. “She doesn’t want you. Grow some balls and leave her the

Guests turned. Security started moving forward. I saw Grayson break away from the groomsmen and walk in angrily.

Oh no. I didn’t want his gorgeous face bruised before the wedding. Whenever he and Chase fought, it never ended well.

I pushed the window further open. I needed him to hear me.

“Grayson, don’t you dare!” I shouted. “Let my brother handle it!”

He looked up at me, upset, like he could not believe I was stopping him from a fight he so desperately wanted.

His hands were already fists.

Ethan did not look away from Chase. “I have this covered. Walk away, Shaw. It’s your wedding day. Don’t waste it on this fool.”

Grayson’s jaw flexed. He looked at me again. I shook my head once, hard. He stopped at the edge of the path, and let my brother handle it. Nico watched from the side and chuckled, obviously amused that his brother had no choice but to listen to me.

I could tell that was not easy for him.

Chase spat blood and tried saying my name one more time.

Ethan hit him again and told security to get him off the property.

That was when Olivia stiffened.

Roman had just entered with a girl on his arm.

She looked pretty. Confident. Her hand tucked into his elbow like she belonged there. He saw Olivia and the easy smile he wore for the girl faltered.

The pain on my sister’s face was fast and unhidden. She couldn’t hide it from any of us in the room.

I crossed to her at once. “Olivia.”

“I’m fine.”

“You are not.” I kept my voice low. “I can uninvite him. Right now. Ethan will live.”

Olivia watched Roman introduce the girl to someone near the door. She swallowed, then forced her shoulders down.

“I’m okay,” she said. “This is your day. I am not turning it into mine. I said I was fine before. I can be fine for the ceremony.”

She was not fine.

I squeezed her hand anyway, because she had asked me not to make it a scene, and because in twenty minutes I was supposed to walk toward a man I couldn’t wait to spend the rest of my life with. I could not get involved in my sister’s boy problems just yet. It could wait until after I married the love of my life.

My sister put her smile back on.

“Come on, beautiful Blair,” she whispered. “It’s time to give you back to your husband. For good this time.”
