Chapter 110

-BLAIR-

Olivia bumped my arm. “Have you decided to forgive him yet?”

It’s been a few days since the accident and that scare was enough to show me that life was too short and I had to put the past behind me if I truly wanted to move forward and have a life with Grayson.

I looked at the screen, then at the white dress she had insisted I wear today for ‘no reason.’

“I think it’s safe to do it now.”

“Good,” Olivia said. “Because Grayson is downstairs and he wants to see you.”

I stared at her. “Olivia.”

“Go. Don’t keep him waiting. The guy was in a serious accident recently and luckily came out with no serious injuries. I think you should go easier on him.”

I rolled my eyes but totally agreed with her.

I went down the stairs too fast and stopped dead when I saw him.

I tried not to gape at how freaking sexy he looked.

He was waiting in a tuxedo. Black. Perfect. Looking at me like the last weeks had been a road he was finally allowed to reach the end of.

Why was he so dressed up?

Was this why Olivia had pushed the white dress?

Did they have something planned?

“Come with me,” he said as he took my hand in his and guided me to his car.

Where were we going?

A few hours later I was on a boat in open water, blindfolded, sitting in a cabin while the engine hummed and my pulse refused to stop racing.

“What is all of this for?” I asked.

“You’ll see.”

He guided me out. Sun on my arms. Then he took the blindfold off.

The front of the boat was covered in flowers and lights. A sign faced me and I held my breath at what I saw there.

Blair, will you marry me…again?

Tears filled my eyes turning the letters blurry.

Grayson went down on one knee in front of me and I had to teach myself how to breathe again.

“Blair.” His voice was soft and filled with emotion. “When you first entered my life, I was blind. I treated you like a debt and a problem I had to survive. Your family did plenty for me. I should have showed a lot more appreciation when I married you. I did not see that you were the person I needed. You turned my life upside down in the best way possible. You made the house a home. You made me honest when I did not want to be. I never should have asked for a divorce. I never should have let you go that day. You want the truth? I was scared. After that night we spent together, I went to Lily’s house to let her know that I had feelings for you and I needed a break from her. Not a break from you. From her. I guess I already knew from then that I wanted to be with you.”

I was shocked. So that morning when the pictures of them hugging were posted…he’d went over to ask her for a break? I couldn’t believe it. I’d misread it this entire time. He didn’t go to her because he wanted her, he wanted to break things off for me.

“And then when I saw the pictures with Chase kissing you, I snapped. I got scared. Asking for a divorce was easier than accepting how much I loved you. Fuck. I was stupid Blair and I swear I’ll never make mistakes like that again. I know you’re the one I want to be with. I know I fucking want you. I know I need you.”

My heart skipped a few beats. I was surprised I was still standing.

He swallowed.

“I want the rest of my life with you. The bickering. The quiet mornings. The nights buried inside you. Waking up with you naked in my arms. I want to be your husband on purpose this time. Not because our fathers shook hands and made a deal. Because I am in love with you. Because that child inside you is ours. Because I cannot go back to a version of my life that does not have you in it.”

He lifted a ring. Not the one I had thrown. A new one.

“Please, Blair. Will you marry me again? For real this time.”

“Yes!” It came out as a loud shout before I could even stop it. The tears came along with it. I couldn’t believe it. Grayson asked me to marry him…again. My love for him felt like it was overflowing.

He stood and pulled me against him so tightly I felt the whole length of him. I buried my face in his neck.

“I love you too Grayson,” I whispered. “I’m so happy that you want to spend the rest of your life with me. I took this long to accept you back because I was scared. Scared that you would hurt me again. But after seeing you get into that accident, I realized that I couldn’t live without you. That I loved you so much that I wanted to move past everything and build a future with you.”

“I will never hurt you again,” he said into my hair. “I promise.”

Then he kissed me.

It started soft and turned hungry immediately.

His mouth opened over mine. My hands fisted in his jacket. Pregnancy had been making me restless for weeks and his tongue sliding against mine ripped a sound out of me I did not bother to hide.

“I’ve been so horny,” I confessed against his mouth, embarrassed and too far gone to care. “The hormones are killing me.”

Grayson chuckled, low.

I pulled back. “Is that funny?”

“No.” His forehead dropped to mine, eyes dark. “I’ve been dying to be inside you again. You have no fucking idea how hard it’s been to stay away.”

That was all it took.

He stripped the jacket off. I went for his shirt. The white dress came up over my hips and he groaned when he found me already wet, already aching.

We did not make it back to the cabin. He laid me back on the sun warmed deck at the front of the boat, flowers crushed under my shoulders, the sign still hanging above us, and dragged my underwear down.

The first push of his mouth between my legs made my back arch off the wood. He licked and sucked me like he had been thinking about it since the blackout, slow then greedy, two fingers sliding in while I gasped his name into the open air.

There was no one but ocean and sun and the wet, filthy sound of him tasting me.

“Grayson-please-”

He came up over me and sank into me in one full stretching thrust that made me cry out from the pleasure. He was even bigger than I remembered, it was so sensitive, so full I saw white. He held still for a second, shaking.

“Fuck. Blair.” I could see the sweat on his forehead, like he was having a hard time holding back.

Then he started to move.

Deep. Hard. Full strokes. The boat rocked under us. Sweat slicked his chest where I had gotten his shirt open.

He hooked my knee over his elbow and drove in at an angle that made me cry out every time he went all the way in.

I scraped at his shoulders. He kissed me messy, swallowing the sounds, hips slapping against mine until 1 came with my nails in his back and his name on my tongue.

He did not stop.

He fucked me through it, slower, deeper, then faster again when I begged, the sun hot on my bare thighs, the deck biting my skin, his mouth on my throat and my breasts.

He said it back like a growl and shuddered inside me with his face buried in my neck, body locked over mine as his release took over the both of us.

We stayed there after, sweaty and shaking, my white dress shoved up, his ring already on my finger, the sign still asking a question I had already answered.

Yes.

Yes yes yes.

A thousand times yes.

I couldn’t wait to be Grayson Shaw’s wife. For real this time.
