I felt like I was dying but in the most beautiful way possible. Grayson’s tongue inside me made it hard to breathe but I didn’t care. I wanted more. All that he could give to me.
I was so lost in my feelings/that I didn’t hear any footsteps approaching us.
But then, Lily’s scream tore through the air, like a cold bucket of water thrown on top of me.
I turned my head just in time to see her standing gear the doors, face drained of color, eyes locked on the exact picture we made-Grayson still between my bare legs, my clothes in ruined pieces in the water and on the stone, his mouth shiny from my juices.
My cheeks burned from being caught like this.
Grayson moved instantly.
He pushed out of the pool in one sharp motion, water falling off him, and went straight to her without looking back at me.
I couldn’t lie. Couldn’t deny it. Seeing him run to her after what he’d just been doing to me…it freaking hurt. His hand closed around her arm. He said something low I couldn’t catch over the rush in my ears, then steered her toward the house. The doors closed behind them hard.
Their voices rose almost immediately.
Shouting. Hers sharper. His controlled but tight.
The sound carried through the walls in broken pieces. I could hear my name, her name, the words how could you…it was difficult to make out full sentences but I had an idea what was being said based on what Lily had just walked into.
I stayed where I was on the edge of the pool, legs still parted like an idiot, chest bare to the open air, the feeling of his mouth still vivid between my thighs.
My body was still humming. That was the worst part. The orgasm had been close and the pleasure had been so sharp, so focused, that my muscles kept fluttering with the aftershock of almost.
Grayson had gone down on me.
And it had felt freaking amazing.
I dragged a shaking hand down my face and tried to force my thoughts into order. The argument with him. The photo of Chase. It’s almost like he had snapped after seeing the articles of us, grabbed me, thrown us both into the water. Then the kiss had stopped being anger halfway through.
I couldn’t stop thinking about his mouth on my breasts. The sound he made when he first tasted me. The order to spread my legs and the way I had obeyed without thinking.
None of that was supposed to happen.
What Grayson didn’t know, what almost no one knew, was that I was still a virgin.
Yes. A virgin. Never had sex.
There was no reason he would. I had been with Chase for six years. People assumed the obvious. Even Olivia had stopped asking after a while.
The truth was almost painfully old-fashioned. I had wanted to wait for marriage. Not for lack of wanting him, and not because Chase hadn’t tried. He had been frustrated about it more than once, sharp comments about normal relationships slipping out whe Successfully unlocked!cted. But he had never forced the issue. We had done other things. Plenty of other things. Just never that.
I had saved it for my husband. I just thought it would have been Chase. Not Grayson.

The irony would have been funny if it didn’t make my stomach drop. I was married now. Legally. Publicly. And the man I was married to had just had his mouth on me like he was starving, without knowing he was the first to ever put it there. And then, before it could get any further, his childhood sweetheart had caught
us in the act.
My cheeks burned as the next realization arrived, unwanted and undeniable.
I wanted sex with Grayson.
I could not believe it. I wanted…him?
Lily’s voice rose again. I flinched, finally moving enough to reach for the towel. I wrapped it around my body with shaky hands, covering what was left of my dignity, and sat there dripping on the stone while the argument inside continued without me.
Going in didn’t feel safe yet.
Not while she was still screaming. Not while my skin still remembered his mouth. Not while the truth about my own body and what I now wanted from my husband sat exposed in a way no towel could fix.
I wanted Grayson. In ways that shouldn’t be legal.
I should not want him this much. It was not safe for my heart, I’d been through so much already with Chase. I didn’t want to fall for someone else. Did not want to get my heart broken especially not when I already knew Grayson was in love with Lily.
I inwardly groaned.
I pulled the towel tighter around me and stared at the ruined clothes floating near the edge of the pool.
Everything had just changed.
And I had no idea how either of us was supposed to pretend it hadn’t.
