Hello everyone, it's me again! How are you all doing? Today I will continue to walk with you and review Chapter 33 of "Forgotten Wife: Let the Traitors Kneel Down". Sirius entered his office, still holding the letter the king had sent him. It was short, sharp, and to the point: *“Take care of my wife. Don’t let her return to the palace. It is not a safe place.”* Then came the postscript: *“Come to the palace when you can.”*

Sirius stared at the words and sighed. Ever since April had left the palace, rumors had spread like wildfire. Some said the royal marriage had collapsed. Others whispered that the kingdom of Laios had threatened war and forced the king to send his queen away. But Sirius knew the truth was more complicated. Alessandro had told April she could return once she mastered her magic. She had done exactly that. Yet the king still wanted her hidden away—this time in a cold, lonely tower. Sirius was running out of excuses.

April was restless now. Her patience had worn thin, and Sirius had already said the first clumsy thing that came to mind just to calm her. Now he was trapped between a determined woman and a stubborn king. He muttered under his breath, “And now what am I supposed to do with her? Stupid king, when will you finally take your wife back?”

The weight of his duties pressed down on him. The magical barriers protecting the kingdom were under constant attack, and the workload had left deep shadows beneath his eyes. He wondered if he would even survive long enough to see the king fix his marriage. With a heavy heart, he asked himself when all this madness would end.

The next morning, Sirius rode to the royal palace before the sun had fully risen. Gabriel greeted him at the entrance and immediately led him to the king’s office. When Sirius stepped inside, he was shocked by what he saw. Alessandro sat behind his desk, pale and exhausted. His eyes were sunken, dark circles carved beneath them. He looked like a man who had not slept or smiled in a very long time.

“Greetings to His Majesty the King,” Sirius said respectfully.

“I’m glad you could come so soon. Please, sit,” Alessandro replied.

Sirius obeyed and asked carefully, “How is everything?”

“Not very well,” Alessandro admitted. “My work only increases with each passing day. But that is not why I sent for you.”

Sirius guessed the truth. “Is it about your wife?”

“How is she?” the king asked, his voice softening just slightly.

“She is fine,” Sirius answered, “but very upset. She did not receive a response to the letter you wrote to her.”

“How upset is she?”

“Upset enough to say that His Majesty has forgotten about her.”

Alessandro sighed heavily and ran a hand through his hair. “I hate not being able to be with her. But I do not want to put her life in danger.”

Sirius pressed gently, “She has worked very hard for these past two months. I can attest that her handling of magic is excellent. Don’t you think it’s time to let her come back?”

“Not yet,” Alessandro said firmly.

Sirius took a breath. “You know that if you don’t explain this situation properly, it could create a misunderstanding, right?”

“I know,” the king admitted. “But no matter how sweet the words I write, telling her she can’t come back yet will only break her heart.”

“Perhaps,” Sirius said, “but ignoring her letter is even worse. Your silence might make her believe you’ve found another woman and forgotten about her entirely.”

Alessandro sat up sharply, his eyes flashing. “I would never cheat on my wife with another woman. She is the only one for me. I could never forget her. I think about her every minute of the day.”

Sirius thought to himself, *But your wife doesn’t know that. So it’s better if you answer the letter—otherwise I’ll be the one in trouble.*

Finally, Alessandro gave in. “I suppose you’re right.”

Sirius prepared to leave, thinking his task was finished. But the king’s expression turned grave. “Actually, it wasn’t about April that I sent for you. There is another matter.”

Sirius felt a chill of worry.

“Tell me. What happened?”

Alessandro sighed. “Monsters have been sighted at the border.”

“The magicians have been reinforcing the barriers,” Sirius said.

“I know. That’s why I sent Cassian to investigate.” Alessandro’s voice dropped. “But I believe the monsters were already inside the kingdom before the barriers were raised. I want you to reinforce the barriers of the royal capital and the palace personally.”

Sirius nodded. “I will take care of that myself.”

“There’s also another matter,” the king continued. “We have discovered that Duke Vampel is gathering an army. I can’t confirm it completely, but it is almost certain he is working with the kingdom of Laios.”

“Then why haven’t you arrested him?” Sirius asked.

“Because the duke holds great social power. If I arrest him without solid evidence, it would start a war between the nobility and the crown. I cannot afford that.”

“So what do you want me to do?”

“I have him under surveillance. But I need you to create a barrier around Duke Vampel’s territory—one that remains inactive until the right moment. A barrier that can trap him inside his lands when war breaks out.”

Sirius considered the request. “That will be difficult. But not impossible. I will do it as soon as I can.”

“Thank you,” Alessandro said.

Sirius rose to leave, but the king stopped him. “Wait. I will write a letter to April. Wait outside while I finish it.”

Sirius waited by the door. When Alessandro finished, he handed him the folded letter with careful instructions. “Deliver it to her personally.” Then he added, “And take good care of my wife.”

Sirius bowed. “Yes, Your Majesty.”

When Sirius returned to the wizards’ tower, April suddenly appeared behind him, making him jump.

“What a scare you gave me!” he exclaimed.

“Are you coming from the palace?” she asked.

“What? How did you know?”

April smiled knowingly. “It’s because of your clothes. You always look disheveled when you’re in the tower, but you dress better when you go to the palace.”

Sirius couldn’t argue. “You’re right. I come from the palace.”

April’s face fell. “How is Lessan?”

Sirius hesitated. He did not know whether to lie or tell the truth. April noticed his silence and said softly, “I suppose he’s fine. I’m the only one here who feels like she’s dying when she’s away from him.”

Sirius sighed. “That’s not true. He didn’t look well at all. He was pale, with dark circles. He looked very tired.”

“Is he sick?” April asked, worry blooming in her eyes.

“No,” Sirius said gently. “I think what he has is called sadness. He misses you.”

Then he pulled out the letter and handed it to her. “This is the letter you’ve been waiting for. He asked me to deliver it personally.”

April took it, her hands trembling slightly. She thanked him and said she would read it in her room.

When April was alone, she stared at the letter for a long time. This was the letter she had waited for for two months—yet now she was afraid. What if the words inside weren’t what she wanted to hear? What if Alessandro had written to tell her they were truly over? She took a deep breath, gathered every shred of courage, and opened the letter.

*“Hello, my beloved wife.*

*Today has been another day without you by my side. Writing these words to you is the only thing that comforts me. It’s been two months since you had to go away, and I confess that it has not been easy at all. The days, the nights—every minute and every second that I can’t see you or hold you in my arms—have become eternal and painful. I look forward to the day when we can be together again.*

*You asked me to come back, but it is not time yet. Please be patient and wait for me. Don’t forget that I love you. You are the love of my life.”*

April clutched the letter to her chest and began to cry. She felt like such a fool for ever doubting his love. That day, she cried for a long time—not from sorrow alone, but from hope. She wished with all her heart that the day would soon come when she could finally be in her beloved’s arms again.

**Reader’s Impressions & Star Rating**

This chapter hit me right in the heart. The aching longing between Alessandro and April is so deeply written that I could feel every word of that letter in my own chest. I also loved seeing Sirius’s exhaustion and his quiet loyalty—he’s caught between a lovesick king and an impatient queen, and he manages both with so much heart. The letter scene was tender, tearful, and beautifully human. Meanwhile, the rising threat of Duke Vampel and the hidden monsters adds a perfect layer of tension. This chapter gives us romance and political intrigue in equal measure, and I absolutely loved it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rating: 4.8 / 5 Stars

**Next Chapter Prediction**

Now that April has finally received Alessandro’s heartfelt letter, she may feel more determined than ever to return to him. But with monsters lurking inside the kingdom and Duke Vampel secretly preparing for war, danger may strike closer than anyone expects. Will April decide to leave the tower against the king’s orders? And will Sirius’s barrier be ready in time? I predict the next chapter will bring an unexpected attack—and perhaps a long-awaited reunion in the middle of chaos.
